It is also said that. Here, isn't the Prajñāpāramitā considered a particularly virtuous phenomenon arising from the mind? That is the characteristic of conditioned phenomena, while Suchness is taught as being established only on the edge of unconditioned phenomena. Therefore, how can Suchness become Prajñāpāramitā? If that were the case, since all beings possess Suchness, wouldn't all beings become Tathāgatas according to the previous scripture? If one asks this. Establishing particularly virtuous phenomena arising from the mind as Prajñāpāramitā is because one obtains that name through the power of realizing the Prajñāpāramitā by its own nature; otherwise, even if it is wisdom, how could it become Pāramitā? It will not be like the second thought either, because the previous scripture showed the Tathāgata by realizing Suchness, not because Suchness is present. Therefore, it is not necessarily beneficial to have it, because it depends on other conditions, like a poor person owning a treasure on their own land. Therefore, although children naturally possess Prajñāpāramitā, they are called children because they have not realized it, because the word "child" is led to mean weak and subtle. Understanding this meaning, the noble Maitreya said: Among beings, there is nothing smaller than this, and all beings are confused about this. If it is said that abandoning all that exists and appearing in nothingness, then how serious is the ignorance of the world! It is said like this. In the Mahāyāna scripture called "The Great Vaipulya Buddha Avataṃsaka Sūtra," it is said: Although children do not understand Bodhi, they abide on the other shore. It is said like this. Therefore, this Prajñāpāramitā by its own nature is the main Prajñāpāramitā, and because it is the most precious, it is also called the heart essence of Prajñāpāramitā. Just as the abiding and growth of the body and so on is due to the power of the mind holding it, and the mind also mainly depends on the part of the body called the heart, so it is said: The mind disturbed by habits is the place of many discriminations, and it mainly abides in the realm of the heart. It is said like this.

If the heart, which is the life force, does not exist, the mind cannot abide; if the mind cannot abide, then the body with its senses will certainly not abide, therefore it is called the heart. It is known as Hridaya, meaning most precious. Similarly, if there is no Prajnaparamita by nature, then non-conceptual wisdom will not arise relying on any object. If it does not arise, how can the path, fruit, and scriptures arise? Therefore, this is also called Hridaya, because it is most precious. What is relied upon is the five paths, and its fruit, non-conceptual wisdom, and the scriptures that teach them. Among these, non-conceptual wisdom is the main part of Prajnaparamita, because it abides relying on Prajnaparamita, and is non-dual with Prajnaparamita by nature. The path and scriptures are also practiced in order to attain it. Therefore, the teacher Dignaga also said: "Prajnaparamita is non-dual, that wisdom is the Tathagata, because of practicing that meaning to be attained, the scriptures and paths are its sound." Here, the scriptures refer to the two, such as the "Holy Prajnaparamita in One Hundred Thousand Verses," which were previously mentioned. The path will be explained below. Non-conceptual wisdom will also be determined through explanation. Having thus separately explained, the nature of this Mother is shown. Now the definitive word will be explained. The so-called "wisdom" means: because it can know the voice of others, and individually can know itself, therefore it is wisdom; because it can attain supreme peace, therefore it is supreme wisdom; because it can attain qualities, therefore it is wisdom. Thus it is said. For the first two paths, it is the first definition. For the path of seeing and the fruit, it is the second definition. For worldly wisdom, it is the third definition. For the path of meditation, it is the fourth definition. For the special path, the fifth definition is added and attributed to the scriptures. For nature, it is called by the name of the fruit. So, how are these wisdoms called "Paramita"? Samsara, where ordinary people dwell, is this shore. Transcending and going far beyond this shore, reaching the other shore of transcendence, is the meaning of Paramita. Therefore, because it transcends the world, it is called Paramita.
