Earth, trees are formations, consciousness is extinguished, such is the end of suffering. And so on. The refutation of these is extensively explained in the 'Holy Lankavatara Sutra' and the 'Glorious Lion's Roar Sutra,' etc. It has also been previously stated in the 'Victorious Mother Sutra' that some things arise solely from their own nature and then completely cease, appearing as various distinctions, such as lamps, etc. Some never arise and are therefore without cessation, being merely names, such as flowers in the sky, etc. Some, such as arising, never change without a definite object, such as the distinctions of the minds of beings. Therefore, one rejoices merely without examination, but upon examination, the mind is like the pith of a water tree, empty, and this mere illusion of completely pure wisdom never disappears. However, it is not possible without objective conditions, etc., so they have not spoken well. Therefore, it is said, 'Bodhisattvas who benefit beings as long as samsara exists,' etc. Some, with only wrong views, think that the wisdom of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, is only a name, and that after the uninterrupted samadhi, wisdom does not actually exist, but is only pure Suchness. This is also refuted by this. How is it refuted? The so-called pure Suchness is the Suchness that is not different from and not the same as the Dharma-nature wisdom because of its purity. Thus, relying on convention, if one speaks, if wisdom is completely cut off by the sword of wrong views, who will make your Suchness pure? If there is a Suchness that does not depend on Dharma-nature, then what? As the 'Holy Samdhinirmocana Sutra' says, if the ultimate truth is different from the conventional truth, then the ultimate truth will not become the common characteristic of all dharmas, and seeing the ultimate truth will not enable yogis to eliminate afflictions, etc., which would become a loophole. Furthermore, if Suchness is pure, that is, the Suchness of beings is impure.
