Asking about, reading, listening to, reciting, writing, holding, remembering, and meditating on the Prajñāpāramitā is the most extensive offering ritual to all Tathāgatas. Therefore, wise individuals, especially those who, through definitive understanding, are grateful to the teacher, should distinguish the meaning of this Prajñāpāramitā in wisdom and scripture as the essence of repaying offerings. Therefore, the teachers themselves also strive to explain the scriptures. In any case, I, even if not the field of action, also, in order to benefit myself and others, and to accumulate merit, have generated the intention. Thus it is said. In any case, I, even if not the field of action, this is because if one were to condemn commentaries written out of jealousy and other emotions, it might be hindered. Just as Dharmakirti said when writing the Pramāṇavārttika, "Most people are attached to the mediocre," and so on. Wanting to benefit oneself and others, this is to show the purity of motivation and to teach those who can be tamed. Accumulating merit, this is to repay practice, and "in accordance" indicates that this is the best method of offering. Generating intention, this shows the joy of writing, and also connects it to the conditions of the pith instructions. Now, in order to explain the prostration, in order to remove the obstacles of words, it is quoted, "To fully demonstrate in a manner that is in accordance with the conduct of noble Maitreya and other virtuous ones," and so on, these words are easy to understand. The so-called "each individually with the wisdom of self-realization, generating great joy in the realm of the Prajñāpāramitā," where "each individually with self-realization" means transcending the path of speech, unrelated to expression. What one has correctly realized oneself cannot be shown to others, nor can others rely on or grasp it. Therefore, what one has correctly realized alone is what one has correctly realized oneself. It is like this: Subtle and difficult to know is the path of the great sage, Non-conceptual, not an object of thought, difficult to see, Its nature is peaceful, without cessation or arising, It is understood by the clear wisdom of the wise. Without self-nature, peaceful, suffering is exhausted.

Liberated from the tantras, equally attaining nirvana, without beginning or middle, inexpressible by words, liberation in the three times, like the sky, similar and equal. The realm of the Sugatas, peaceful and near, all paths of speech are difficult to express. Since those grounds and activities are such, if they are difficult to express, how can they be shown? That is beyond thought, completely separated from mind. It is the realm of the victorious ones, the manifestation of wisdom. It is not produced by the aggregates, sense bases, or elements. The mind cannot know it, the intellect cannot analyze it. Like the tracks of birds in the sky. Extremely difficult to speak of, impossible to show. Likewise, the grounds of the Sugata's heirs cannot be known by the objects of mind and intellect. However, through the power of loving-kindness and compassion, a portion of it will be explained in a gradual manner, but it is not the realm of the mind. It should be perfected through the way of wisdom. Such a realm is subtle and difficult to see. Because it is self-awareness, it cannot be expressed. However, through the power of the Sugatas, it will be spoken, so listen attentively in accordance with the mind. Thus it is said. Thus, from the perspective of the teachings, it is shown that it cannot be spoken. Then, is it because it is completely non-existent like a rabbit's horn that it cannot be spoken? Or, even if it is assumed to exist, it cannot be spoken. Regarding this, if it is according to the first view, although it is inexpressible, it is not self-awareness, because what does not exist cannot be established as awareness, like flowers in the sky and so on. Therefore, since there would be a fallacy, and there is no harm in refuting it, that is not established. If it is according to the second view, it is also unreasonable. Anything that cannot be spoken of in that way is unreasonable, because even a pot and so on would become inexpressible. And when and from whom would trust arise in the very term of an inexpressible existence? Even lamas and others cannot generate that certainty, because it is inexpressible. Therefore, if it is said that individual self-awareness is not desired, then is this critical view approached from the perspective of ultimate truth or from the perspective of conventional truth? If it is ultimate, then as has been said, I do not even accept the slightest bit of self-awareness, because it is destroyed by the power of reason.
