Not praising or extolling others is averting the works of demons. Believing in and not abandoning the profound Dharma of the Buddhas is averting the works of demons. Not allowing the mind of omniscience to completely decline is averting the works of demons. Diligently engaging in the profound Dharma and abiding in mindfulness is averting the works of demons. Abiding in the bodhisattva's treasury and completely seeking all Dharmas is averting the works of demons. Repeatedly listening and not being weary of truthful words is averting the works of demons. The thought of seeking refuge and assistance from all the Tathagatas residing in all realms of the world is averting the works of demons. In practice, remembering the blessings of all the Buddhas and properly receiving faith is averting the works of demons. Manifestly practicing without being different from the roots of virtue of all bodhisattva friends is averting the works of demons. Alas! These ten sons of the Buddhas are the averting of the works of demons for bodhisattvas, and they will cause bodhisattvas to transcend all the works of demons, so it was said. The meaning of the words of one's own treatise is easy to understand, so it is not differentiated. Now, beginning with the nature of the three omnisciences, which bodhisattvas have well entered, in order to explain the verses that show the qualities of this Mother of the Buddhas, the qualities of those are explained under the fault, and so on. Among them, "those" refers to the bodhisattva practitioners, or those three omnisciences. "Quality" refers to one's own quality and aspect, the quality of one's own quality and differentiation. The quality of differentiation is that things like pots are not like conches, and so on, and even a single thing is spoken of in terms of countless reversals, as it is said in the Pramanavarttika: "Because all things by their nature, abide in their own essence, similar things from other things, have dependence on reversal." Thus it is shown, and like the praise: "Seeing the other shore of the profound Dharma nature like an ocean."

In this regard, the venerable master Chandrakirti stated: These distinctions are merely made due to the influence of pressing needs and conceptual elaborations. Because they lack substance, they cannot fulfill the requirements of a definition. The master also stated: Unifying the meaning into one, relying on the observation of opposites, it is therefore not permissible to distinguish different entities that arise approximately. Others say that if one enters the path of reason, then all things are merely the general appearance of sound, just names, and only examination becomes the essence. If one clings to dense appearances, believing that external things exist as they are, then all true conventionalities, however many are posited, each thing possesses the characteristic of the corresponding number of abilities. Self-nature refers to one's own unique components, such as the heat of fire, etc., which, when not destroyed by reason in the world, are coarse things that appear to function independently of others. Here, the definition of self-nature is taken. Furthermore, the definitions that express are knowledge, difference, and action. Among these, the definition of knowledge refers to omniscient nature, and the differences among the three can be understood through statements such as, "The Victorious Mother is the mother of the Thus-Gone One." If one understands the greatness of the nature of the Victorious Mother of all three omniscient natures in this way, then it is sufficient to understand the basis of all things. Why is it necessary to understand all paths? Although they are the same in terms of understanding, showing that the differences between them are like this and that is the definition of difference. If one wonders what the definition of difference does, then the definition of action is shown. The definition of what the entity is to be expressed is omniscient nature, which is merely a nature that is not primarily the nature of including the other three. In summary, the meaning is limited to this, and those meanings that I have not distinguished one by one can be understood in detail from the commentary on the Middle Way Sutra verses composed by the venerable Arya Vimuktisena.
