So, why are these wisdoms called "Pāramitā"? Saṃsāra is the realm of ordinary beings, it is this shore; transcending and being far away from it is the meaning of transcending the world, Pāramitā. Therefore, because it transcends the world, it is Pāramitā. Therefore, in the intermediate Mother Sutra also, it is said: "Shariputra, if someone says, what is Prajñāpāramitā? Shariputra, what is called Prajñāpāramitā is being far away. What is it far away from? Shariputra, it is far away from the skandhas, therefore it is called being far away," and so on. Therefore, the word "para" is translated as "parayata". Or, the word "para" indicates excellence, and if the cause of things is combined with it, it is called the excellence of things themselves. For example: vast and long-lasting are for... inexhaustible, continuous and without difficulty, power, dedication and creation, and for obtaining and the cause being in harmony to accomplish the noble things. It is said like this. And also: long-lasting habituation, everything and the supreme fruit, these are the things that are superior to the inferior vehicle. It is said like this. Or, because it is taught by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the supreme beings, it is also a supreme thing. Furthermore, because it liberates from the supreme harm of others and so on, it is a word combined of two. Others think that because it has reached the other shore of what is to be known, it is called Pāramitā. At that time, the word "reached" is completely correct, because it is pronounced according to the root of the word "ita saṃjāta". The length of the letters is the rule of Sanskrit, so there is no contradiction. This last explanatory word is actually combined with the fruit, and for others it is metaphorical. The rest are combined with the essence as appropriate. Thus, from the essence and the words expanded from it, here the Prajñāpāramitā is distinguished, then to which one should we prostrate? Is it to the one that takes everything, or to the wisdom that is the nature of the fruit, non-dual? It is not different from the extreme Pāramitā by nature, it is determined only by non-conceptual wisdom.
