In order to attain meditation, when purifying the path of the distinctive characteristic of manifesting all aspects, stainless wisdom arises in the order of small, medium, and large. This order, in terms of its own nature, has no different names, therefore it is taught as being in accordance with the decisive aspect, and so on. The action that is in accordance with the aspect of liberation is only in the former, in the manner of a lion's looking back, but not here. Because obtaining what is in accordance with the decisive aspect related to the three omniscient ones is what precedes it, and because the distinctive path does not have that action. Therefore, placing the omniscient nature of fully realizing all aspects in the common path of the three, and so on, if it is said to act like what is in accordance with the aspect of liberation, that is not so. Because without all distinctions, it is impossible. Therefore, only the aspects of the three omniscient ones are placed in distinction. The distinctive characteristics of small, medium, and large that are in accordance with the aspect of liberation are established by the distinctions of the vehicles themselves, but not commonly. Therefore, how is it an example that accords with the Dharma? Therefore, those things that have been completely understood in general are fully realized by manifesting all aspects, and having meditated on them in that way and become empowered, it is called the application of empowerment. Eighth, stating the characteristic of non-retrogression as being distinct by the distinctions of small, and so on, is called the non-retrogressing Bodhisattva Sangha. If the distinctions of the object and the aspect are understood, it is easy to understand, therefore these two should be stated. Among them, for the time being, the object is the four noble truths that exist in the stages of the path of application, and so on. The aspect is also by the nature of turning back from form, and so on. The natures are each definite, therefore one should understand by relying only on that. For the path of meditation, the nature, distinctions, collection, action, and objects should be stated. Among them, showing the nature by the distinction of having distinctions and not having distinctions is what is meditated on after that.

"It is said to abide on the path." This means that it possesses the profound characteristics of being free from the extremes of addition and subtraction, the object of meaning seen through the path of union and so forth, and the union of meditative stabilization, and is born from the power of wisdom that has a beginning and an end. The wisdom of thinking and so forth is said to be special. Second, to show the detailed distinctions, it is said, "How many kinds are there?" and so on. Although there is no difference in the nature of the wisdom arising from meditation, due to the distinctions of the non-concordant aspects based on the nine grounds, it is the meaning of being nine kinds. Third, to explain the summary, it is said, "The Mother of the Victorious Ones and from that." This is understood as follows: Does this therefore become merely non-existent? Or is it like the former in conventional truth? It is not, because one does not wish for differences in the single nature of non-conceptualization. In the second case, if one accepts the difference that depends on others, since there are nine kinds of objects to depend on, how can the depender become many? Fourth, to show the function, it is said, "By the characteristic of emptiness." This means that if there are actually discordant aspects and antidotes, then change and accomplishment will also change. If these do not exist, then all phenomena are without function, so what is the use of the path? Here, the answer is given by examples of worldly and transworldly based on conventional truth, which is "It is not like that." If, in reality, the entity of cause and effect is unreasonable, and it is said that there is no function of the path, then at that time there is no need to say more. The addition is cut off, and the result of the addition is selflessness, so there is no function for it, and the direct perception and inference that grasp it are all aimed at the object of addition, so they cannot destroy the function of the true nature. However, if it is said that it does not exist in name, then at that time, for candles and so on, because there is a valid means of establishment that is seen by direct perception, therefore, for it, there is the term of existence.
