The enlightenment perfected by the path is extremely pure. The summarized meaning of this is as follows: When the five branches of the path are perfected, it is in accordance with the aspect of definite ascertainment as it is, and does not go beyond it. When the path of the Hearers sees the antidote to all, the conceptual elaborations taken by the path of the Solitary Buddhas are free from elaboration, and the conceptual elaborations grasped by the path of the Bodhisattvas are free from elaboration. Having realized this, when the path of meditation, with and without outflows, abandons the aggregates of afflictions to be abandoned by it, it is said that all aspects are accomplished in the context of omniscience. End of the Second Chapter. Third Chapter Understanding the cause of the arising of all paths, understanding the self-nature of all that is to be known, as well as the cause, the dissimilar aspects, the antidote, the path, its branches, and the proximate collection. Since without understanding the self-nature, it is not possible to understand the later ones, therefore, to speak briefly, it is "all bases" and so forth. With compassion and wisdom, the characteristics of permanence and annihilation, and the characteristics of samsara and nirvana, and the interval between them, knowing all the natures of dwelling in and being separated from them, since they know all natures, it is not possible for the Hearers and others who are separated from those natures to have omniscience, which has become one aspect of the Perfection of Wisdom. This has been said in the context of omniscience, and is the meaning of those treatises. If there is no difference in omniscience, then how does the Perfection of Wisdom exist and not exist? In order to dispel the doubts of those of inferior intelligence, the second difference of cause is explained, which is "from reason" and so forth. Understanding the self-nature of form and so forth is understanding the equality of all dharmas, and also, by abandoning the knowledge of things and non-things, the object of form and so forth is change, and is not otherwise. Therefore, it is related to the skillful means of following and reversing, and if it reverses, then it is reversal. Therefore, the Hearers and others do not have the realization of the equality of all dharmas. Dissimilar aspects and antidotes

Since there are no opposites, they are distinguished in the conventional sense by the entities of cause and effect. If this is the case, even if emptiness and so on are applied as an antidote to the self and so on fabricated by others, attachment will still arise, and therefore it is an opposing factor. When a Bodhisattva engages in generosity and so on without arrogance, it is an antidote that leads others to engage with certainty in the same way, because there is no attachment. In general, since attachment is an opposing factor, attachment to the Tathagata and so on is also an opposing factor. Therefore, realizing that things included in the aggregates of knowledge and knowable objects have the same nature is an antidote to that. Thus, attachment to impermanence and so on, and to the Tathagata and so on, is a method for completely pacifying afflictions. Although it is an antidote to permanence and so on, since the obscuration of knowledge is its nature, it is eliminated by those who do not fixate on all phenomena and who know the same nature. Therefore, there are two aspects to each of the opposing factors and the antidotes by definition. The meaning is this: when focusing on impermanence and so on, and on the Tathagata and so on, if permanence and so on are the antidotes, and they are characterized by the causes of accumulating merit, then they become opposing factors. However, since all phenomena are unborn, there is nothing that can become an antidote, and nothing that is an opposing factor. When this is definitely realized through practice without signs, then that action of the Bodhisattva is the antidote. Eliminating the opposing factor with the antidote also changes the path, so it is reasonable to talk about the path, but since the result depends on the cause, the detailed divisions of the causes of the path and a brief description of its form is what is meant by "after talking about the opposing factors and so on." This is what is being said: for form and feeling and so on, examine the characteristics such as changeability and the impermanence and so on.
