The twenty-two that pervade between enlightenment, such as saying "it is so," have been mentioned. In three countless eons, with what knowledge does one constantly practice the deeds of attending to virtuous friends and making offerings to the Buddhas, etc.? That knowledge is the ground of the first practitioner. What is included in that is the first three, which are small, medium, and large in nature, namely, the generation of the mind of awakening that realizes desire, thought, and higher intention. Because of this, at that time, due to the stability of virtuous friends, etc., all the roots of virtue that exist remain like the sprouts of seeds planted in a good field, and like excellent gold, they are inexhaustible, and like the moon on the first day, they will increase, it is said. After that, the word "one" refers to the mind of awakening that is associated with application. The so-called entering the first ground, the Joyful Ground, is included in the path of entry, that is, what mind enters, that is what is included. This mind associated with application, when all the obscurations of the three omniscient ones are extinguished like a fire burning, at that time one enters the first ground, the Joyful Ground, etc., it is intended. After that, the ten minds of awakening associated with generosity, etc., are the objects of the path of seeing and the path of cultivation. In order, they are the Joyful Ground, the Stainless Ground, the Luminous Ground, the Radiant Ground, the Very Difficult to Conquer Ground, the Manifest Ground, the Far Reaching Ground, the Immovable Ground, the Ground of Good Intelligence, and the Ground of the Cloud of Dharma. Those included in these ten grounds are because of the excellence of the mind of awakening of the ten perfections such as generosity, etc., the Joyful Ground, etc., are born. Because of this, the Bodhisattvas who enter the Joyful Ground, etc., from the excellent mind of generosity, etc., will certainly satisfy sentient beings in order like a great treasure, be the support of the jewels of qualities like a place of origin of jewels, be unshaken by unwillingness like a great ocean, and like a vajra, any

I am indestructible, like the king of mountains, unshakable by anything, like a great medicine, pacifying all afflictions, like a virtuous friend, not abandoning the benefit of sentient beings, like a wish-fulfilling jewel, accomplishing the fruit of aspirations, like the sun, fully ripening those to be tamed, like the Bhagavan, fully teaching all dharmas such as selflessness. Thereafter, entering the unobstructed path with wisdom superior to the former is the superior path, which is encompassed by it. The so-called "five" refers to clairvoyance, merit, wisdom, dharmas in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment, compassion, insight, retention, and the generation of fearless mind. By the power of combining with these, in order, like a great king, following the benefit of others, like a treasury, becoming the basis of merit and wisdom, like a great road, making the path easy to traverse for all noble ones and attaining the supreme path, like a good steed, not falling into the extremes of permanence and annihilation, like magically created water, causing disciples to obtain fruits without end. Therefore, since it is the realm of the Buddhas alone, the eleventh encompassed by the Buddhas is the garden of Dharma, the one vehicle path, and the possession of the Dharmakaya. That which is encompassed by the three is the application, the main practice, and the conclusion, for whichever mind first manifests in action is the mind of application. That which completes the action is the main practice. After the action has been completed, whichever mind says, "It has been done well," and so forth, is the conclusion, because it exists. In this, also in order, like a melodious sound, proclaiming the dharmas that have been heard and not heard to fall into the heart, like the flow of a river, doing the benefit of sentient beings with equality, like a cloud, showing the meaning through emanations in Tushita and so forth. By the ten purifications, the first bhumi is attained.
