That which cannot be abandoned and cannot be removed is its own nature. Holding onto its own nature and claiming it as its own essence, this is the clinging to all phenomena. Because there is no true nature, the moment of grasping and being grasped exists only in the moment of arising and ceasing. This is what is meant by the nature of mere consciousness. Emptiness is the nature of the grasping consciousness, and so on, as well as the characteristics of what is to be known. The cause of that, the nature of what is to be grasped, such as form, if it exists in the ultimate truth, in the sense of being uncreated, then at that time it does nothing at all. This should be connected in this way. Now, the characteristics of the aggregates of afflictions, such as form, and the characteristics of the antidote path, have neither past nor future, so the moment of their arising, which is also the present moment, does not exist, so it does nothing at all. Like the constancy of space, although all phenomena are momentary, if there is no excellent action, what difference is there? Because there is nothing at all, practicing like your school is fruitless, and how can one who does not know the nature of phenomena prevent it? One should contemplate in this way. Also, like a painter, who paints a terrifying form of a yaksha, and after painting it, becomes frightened himself. Those who are unskilled in samsara are also like that. The answer that is spoken in this way, In a roundabout way, the meaning mentioned in the "Collection of Words" is also quoted, that is, for this reason, and so on. Because it is like that, clinging to appearances in things, such as form, that is, turning into a true thought, that is inverted and unreasonable, so it cannot be reversed. It is also like that in the state of the Bhagavan. Therefore, if someone claims that the Bhagavan, that is, the perfectly enlightened Buddha, has abandoned all cognitive obscurations and habitual tendencies, and has stopped the grasper and so on, and also admits that all phenomena, such as form, exist, and believes that they exist in the ultimate truth, this is admitting mutually contradictory meanings. They consider it rare that I have directly realized samadhi, but clinging to appearances in inverted things, if

If a reversal occurs, then why would it be different from individual sentient beings? The noble Maitreya thought so. A superior cause produces a superior result, just as a rice sprout does not grow from a Kodrapa seed, it does not arise from other causes, which everyone should acknowledge. Therefore, the superior result of abandoning afflictions cannot be achieved through the path of seeing, which is contaminated by viewing non-superior objects as its focus. This should be understood. The Ornament of Madhyamaka states: From a pure cause, a pure result arises. Like the pure limbs of discipline, etc., arising from true views. And the Commentary on Valid Cognition states: Sometimes a method is one kind, and for a long time, one learns with this, and then qualities and faults are eliminated. This is what is said. Thus, by refuting the side of existence, it shows that the tenets of grasping, etc., are not true. And, for the tenet of selflessness that pervades all of selflessness, one should firmly establish and ascertain it. Those who desire liberation should only accept this. Those who desire complete enlightenment should accept that the side of selflessness of all things is the only reasonable one. This is the side of abiding. The verses in between establishing the tenet are spoken as: In this, etc. In this, there is nothing to be refuted. Because there is no cause for unreasonable liberation, one should refute the view of reality, etc., that is imputed by the internal heretics. There is nothing to be added, which means that one should not indicate through the self, etc., that is imputed by external heretics. For the ways of viewing conventional and ultimate truths, etc., this is the remainder. Refuting the view of non-existence is what is mentioned above as true, etc. True, means true by virtue of dependent origination. One should observe and understand the appearance of form, etc., as it is. Then what will happen? Again
