Like a vajra, it cannot be destroyed by anything; like the king of mountains, it cannot be moved by anything; like a great medicine, it completely pacifies afflictions; like a virtuous friend, it does not abandon the benefit of sentient beings; like a wish-fulfilling jewel, it accomplishes the fruit of aspirations; like the sun, it completely ripens those to be tamed; like the Bhagavan, it comprehensively teaches the Dharma of selflessness and so forth. After that, that which enters the unobstructed path with wisdom that surpasses the previous one is the superior path, which is summarized by it. "Five" refers to clairvoyance, merit, wisdom, Dharmas that are in accordance with the aspects of enlightenment, compassion, vipassanā, dhāraṇī, and the generation of a mind endowed with fearlessness. By the power of its combination, in order, like a great king, it follows the benefit of others; like a treasury, it becomes the basis of merit and wisdom; like a great road, it easily obtains the path that all noble ones have made easy to traverse; like a good steed, it does not fall into the extremes of permanence and annihilation; like an artificial stream of water, it causes disciples to obtain fruits without end. Therefore, since it is the realm of the Buddhas alone, that which is summarized by the eleven qualities of the Buddhas is the Dharma pleasure garden, the one vehicle path, and that which possesses the Dharmakāya. That which is summarized by the three is the application, the main part, and the conclusion. The mind with which one first engages in action is the mind of application. The mind with which one completes the action is the main part. The mind with which one says "It is done well" after the action is completed is the conclusion, because it exists. Also, in order, like a pleasant sound, it proclaims that the Dharmas that have been heard and not heard fall into the heart; like a continuous stream of water, it benefits sentient beings with equality; like a cloud, it shows the meaning with emanations in Tushita and so forth. The ten completely purifying

Sa. It is said that "the ground is the first to be obtained," etc. The grounds such as great joy are accomplished by many causes. Isn't it going to be explained below? If you say, how can this pervade all bodhicitta? There is no contradiction, because the very attainment of enlightenment, bodhicitta is said to be the only, main cause, and for any result, it is not seen that there is only one cause, and there is no fault in saying other causes. In the Ornament of the Sutras, it says: "Bodhicitta is in all the grounds, faith and superior intention, purity and other maturation, likewise, the removal of obstacles. Its root is compassion, always thinking of benefiting sentient beings." Thus, the differences between the ordinary person, the Bodhisattva, and the Tathagata's ground are explained, which are the excellent differences of the nature of cause and effect. Similarly, by the order of understanding the meaning, the bodhicitta is explained in the order as it was said. Only these, the excellent differences of bodhicitta are not incomplete, nor are they superfluous, but are explained in order. Those who want to practice with aspiration as the guide, because they do not understand its object, will only become fruitless, so they want to explain it with uncommon verses of learning, the necessity of which is as stated in "as it is" etc. The so-called "as the time is," means that it has not exceeded the appropriate time. Striving to accomplish means striving to accomplish the key points. Generating bodhicitta is what was said before. The Dharma that is lacking in this is to perfect the root things of all white dharmas, etc. Obtaining qualities means generating bodhicitta from a virtuous friend, etc., not taking refuge in others, etc. The so-called "with the meaning of protecting them" means with the meaning of protecting. The so-called "in order to make them increase" means that in order to make these bodhicitta, etc., more excellent by the order of increasing from above, the meaning of the differentiating functions of accomplishment, etc., is explained. The differentiation of bodhicitta as it is said is bodhicitta.
