That is, by the power of something other than oneself, or, whatever external protections one looks to, all of those are not good, because they do not eliminate the obstacles of the mind. This should be understood. That is, whether moving or unmoving, completely realizing illusion-like emptiness, that itself is the protection of seeing the ultimate meaning. What need is there for other armors of protection? Thus it is explained. Because it is the completely transformed consciousness, it is completely transformed. Because it is a collection of mantras and medicines, it is jointly combined. Because it is non-existent, it is contradictory. Sound depends on conditions, so it is a condition. Not exceeding the way of what is to be known, so it is not exceeding. Because it has no basis, it is without support. Because it is separated from cause, it is without an agent. Among these, what is called appearance is not truly considered to be consciousness, etc., so that complete transformation, etc., is a false appearance, up to this point. Because it is the wisdom that is the antidote to that, like a dream, illusion, mirage, echo, cataract, city of gandharvas, emanation, in order, things are the seven kinds of knowledge, that is called the seven kinds of knowers, the knowledge of dreams, etc., just mentioned, is a summary word. The meaning there is this: There, because it is the complete transformation of consciousness, it is called complete transformation, things will become like dream-like knowledge, etc., which has been clarified in the difficult commentary itself. The ten combinations of reversed understanding from that by hearers, etc., are mentioned implicitly, such as "by force," etc., such as "the equality of combination," etc., such as "for form, etc.," etc., the meaning briefly expressed in words is the mention of form, etc., attachment to form and feeling, etc., is intense clinging. Because it is the reason for the name of form, etc., it is the sign of blue, etc. Form is two kinds and twenty kinds. Etc. is extensive explanation. The knowledge of warmth, etc., is realization. The conceit of these is intense...

Knowing the four distinctions of the four truths, such as suffering. Not clinging to these at all is not seeing. The equality of combination is the same as the equality of combination. Starting from "recognizing the equality of combination," etc., it refers to entering into the verses headed by "suffering," etc. The so-called "Dharma-knowledge, following Dharma-knowledge-acceptance" refers to Dharma-knowledge, following Dharma-knowledge-acceptance, and knowledge. These four are all momentary arising and ceasing, so they are momentary. Its nature is headed by "suffering," etc., and the meaning of the verses of the aspect of the truth headed by "form is impermanent," etc., is what is said, "because of no self-nature," etc. "Because of no self-nature," etc., refers to emptiness, etc., because it is grasping, etc., in the ultimate sense. Form, etc., refers to form and feeling, etc. The so-called "permanent and impermanent," the nature of stability, oneness, and destruction are the Dharma of things. Because they are separated and do not exist, they are neither permanent nor impermanent, nor stable nor destructive. Similarly, suffering is an unpleasant feeling. Without it, it is not suffering. Because it is separated from them, it is far from the extremes of permanence and annihilation of bondage and liberation. Because there is no object of another's self-nature, it is emptiness, and without it, it is not non-emptiness. Because it is separated from it, it is pure. Because oneself is the self-nature of the self, it is self, and without it, it is no-self, because they are merely the self-nature of such investigation. Therefore, since the two unarisen contradict each other, there should be no arising. Thus, there is no arising, so there is no cessation, no destruction, not defiled by desire, etc., and without it, it is not pure. The sound of "etc." means that there should be no decline and increase. The maker of suffering is the cause, and without it, it is not the cause. Because they are the nature of accumulation, they are similar to space. The cause of suffering in this life is accumulation, and without it, it is accumulation.
