The one who possesses [these qualities] is the one who taught the practice of the first armor. Giving and so forth, that is, giving and discipline and so forth. In six aspects, by gathering them separately. The term "by" means that giving and so forth belong to their respective categories. What is the practice of armor? It is to undertake to practice meaningful actions from the very beginning until enlightenment. That is, as mentioned above, with the three wheels completely pure and so forth, from the three mothers with six sets of six, it should be known that thirty-six aspects are taught as they are. The meaning of the verse is that it mentions things like the giving of dharma, because it does not depend on enjoyment, it makes one properly take up discipline. By guarding discipline, one becomes endowed with patience. If one can overcome weariness, one will initiate diligence. If one is free from laziness, one will perfect meditation. Perfect meditation is to obtain wisdom that transcends the world, so it is shown in the order of understanding giving and so forth. In this regard, the bodhisattva's giving of dharma and so forth, greatly bestowing the giving of dharma and material things, and the mind of "taming oneself alone" and so forth, is the attention of the hearers. The word "etc." refers to the attention to things like impermanence, and abandoning it is discipline. All people speaking unpleasant words is saying insults and so forth. Enduring it is patience. Aspiration is the desire to manifest virtue. What is generated by this is diligence. The single-pointed mind that is not mixed with other vehicles, different from the path of the hearers and so forth, focusing on the non-objectification of all dharmas is meditation. Dedicating to unsurpassed perfect enlightenment is to completely dedicate the merit of giving and so forth to all sentient beings attaining Buddhahood, and the power is wisdom. For these, called "doing giving and so forth," one does not cling to the object of giving and the giver and so forth, and there, simply by donning the armor, one initiates diligence until enlightenment. Giving.

Because the intention of the Shravakas is abandoned, here, vowing for the benefit of others is morality. If there is no morality, giving and so on will not arise, because without giving and so on, it is unreasonable to do things for others. Similarly, having patience can control sentient beings. Here, too, there are giving, morality, diligence, and so on. If there is none of these, the enemy will be pacified, because being in harmony with sentient beings, giving and so on will arise. Similarly, diligence is the joy of virtuous deeds, and those who have diligence have giving and so on, meditation and wisdom, because without diligence, giving and so on will not arise. Similarly, those who have meditation have the three wheels of pure giving and so on, and wisdom, because it is impossible to be distracted. Thus, those who have wisdom also have giving and so on, because without giving and so on, it is impossible to completely dedicate the benefits to sentient beings to attain Bodhi. In this way, each of giving and so on includes morality and so on, so saying giving and so on is just six kinds. In this way, for giving and so on, just like the armor of non-attachment and so on for morality and so on, it should also be applied in this way. This is what is said about guarding morality and so on in this way. The meaning of the verses on meditation and so on is that meditation and so on are spoken of, and the first four and so on are meditation.

The ground refers to generating Bodhicitta and so on. To suppress it is to proceed with a mind that does not regress in stages, because that is its very nature. The practice of entering, called ascending to the Mahayana, has already been explained. Here, too, it is the order of Samadhi and so on, according to the order of realization. That is said to be the nine aspects. Great compassion and so on, explains the meaning of the verses of love and so on, called the path of union, because wisdom and means are connected without falling into two extremes, it is the Samadhi of means and wisdom. Skillful means refers to not being discouraged and so on. The ground and the antidotes will be shown below. Having the meaning of the name of the collection is to mention the conventional and so on, called not deviating from the conventional truth, because it does not accord with the ultimate, so it is a complete examination of practicing in the conventional. The meaning of all the meanings of the Great Vehicle refers to generating Bodhicitta and so on. Accomplishing it is through practice. Through these, by means of the door of obtaining the nature of truly entering, by examining and grasping well, it is great Bodhi, because it will become the all-pervading Buddha. Since the meaning of great compassion and so on has already been explained, it is abandoned, and the collection of wisdom refers to mentioning about it and so on, connecting the inner and so on, connecting the inner and outer and so on, it is stated for the sake of easy realization, because the inner self-nature eye and so on, in that reality, do not exist, so it is inner emptiness. Similarly, the outer form and so on is outer emptiness. Because it is generated by it, because it is gathered by the senses, so it is both, the outer and inner are both inner and outer emptiness. Examining beings and so on, all phenomena of things are emptiness, and with emptiness, with the nature of consciousness that focuses on the inner self-nature and so on as emptiness, it is emptiness emptiness. The direction refers to the emptiness of the directions and the vessels and travelers of the earth and so on, it is great emptiness. From Nirvana
