From the Ornament, a brief explanation of the appearances that are difficult to grasp, by the Venerable Good Lion, and the explanation of the sixth chapter from the work of Dharmakīrti. Explanation of the Seventh Chapter The connection of the detailed explanation is the mention of "gradual," etc., which is the nature of giving, etc., of the gradual realization. Cultivation is learning, because through it one becomes very familiar, so it is naturally accomplished, for the sake of remembering. What is called "those themselves" are the giving, etc., just mentioned. Cultivating in one instant is because those cultivated in countless instants are very much familiar, so one necessarily focuses on one instant, which is complete enlightenment in one instant, the distinction of the wisdom of application that has become one instant. That is also by nature, one's own nature has four aspects, the first of which is that initially it is not a result of maturation, not manifestly assembled by external causes and conditions, called unpolluted, all dharmas without afflictions. In the Dharma Abhidhamma, it is said, "The truth of the unpolluted path, etc." Therefore, here, whatever giving, etc., is of the nature of the path, the nature of those single instants is the nature of a single instant. Complete enlightenment in a single instant is the nature of the wisdom of a single instant. The path is giving, etc., and so on, and the verses and explanations are easy to understand. Determining things separately is to focus on the object of what should be given, etc., to what is known. Being separate from it is to transcend it. Because that itself is the nature of reversal, from knowing one of the objects of giving, etc., there is reversal. The cause of reversal is the mention of giving, etc., unpolluted giving, etc., and between the eighty minor marks, the unpolluted that has not been manifestly assembled, what is called should be done, one of the giving, etc., because of the cause included in the scope of the very nature of the realm of dharma, therefore it is called the capable one, which is equipoise.

It should be known that this is the realization of a Bodhisattva. It should be known that the immeasurable realm of no outflows is one wisdom. The so-called "one instant of perfect enlightenment" is the wisdom of one instant. Someone asks: How does one wisdom act upon immeasurable realms? Here, the reason is shown by analogy, as in "as a person," etc. The commentary and explanation are easy to understand. The second "one instant of perfect enlightenment" is as stated in "thus, the first," etc. The nature of karmic ripening refers to the inclination towards bestowing the fruit of Buddhahood. The corresponding absence of outflows, and all the most excellent giving, etc., which take all phenomena as their objects, all these characteristics of a single instant of the Prajnaparamita, etc., are the distinctions in the state of karmic ripening, inclined towards producing the fruit of Buddhahood. All white dharmas arise naturally, and completely manifest within the realm of afflictive dharmas. This is the giving, etc., mentioned earlier, which is the remaining part. The so-called "at that time, one instant of wisdom" means that at that time, giving, etc., becomes the wisdom of one instant, which is the Prajnaparamita. The meaning of this verse is as stated in "when," etc. When a Bodhisattva cultivates antidotes, that is, all the unfavorable aspects of the third omniscient wisdom, etc., mentioned earlier, disappear. Free from clinging, etc., to conceptual thoughts, all pure dharmas, that is, omniscience itself, the state of the third, etc., karmic ripening, is the cause of fully bestowing the fruit of Buddhahood. That is, free from all defilements, abandoning views of clinging, etc., like the light of an autumn moon, white dharmas arise, that is, without defilements, at that time, one instant.

Obtaining the state of being solely matured, becoming the cause of attaining Buddhahood, is stainless. Having abandoned afflictions, the wisdom that knows all dharmas, realizing the three bodies, etc., and the spontaneously accomplished wisdom, which is called the wisdom of realization, is the Prajnaparamita. Becoming its cause, the wisdom that enters the extreme is the moment, etc. The third complete enlightenment in a single moment, thus the second, etc., are mentioned. Because external characteristics are without nature, they are without nature. All dharmas are what was previously said, and they are called the characteristic of a single moment, which is the nature of a single moment, etc. The meaning of the chapter on the third complete enlightenment of generosity, etc., is what was previously mentioned. Previously, having become accustomed to all dharmas as dreams, all dharmas with and without outflows are like dreams, etc. Having previously meditated in this way, having experienced the two accumulations, that is, having accumulated the accumulations of merit and wisdom, in the stage of realization, that is, in the stage where true wisdom can be obtained, the nature of dreams, that is, all dharmas without substance, that is, to all dharmas with and without outflows. That is, abiding in the aggregates of appropriation, that is, focusing on the aggregates with outflows, the aggregates of arising, and the aggregates of stainless discipline, etc., accomplishing the six perfections of generosity, etc., that is, practicing generosity, etc., the nature of generosity, etc., for generosity, etc., determining the absence of self, that is, determining observation, with all its aspects, all dharmas are without nature. That is to say, the emptiness of external characteristics such as form, etc., is therefore without nature. Thus, the nature of universal defilement and purification, the previously mentioned unfavorable aspects and antidotes.
