Just as the sky is unborn, immeasurable, unabandonable, and irremovable, it holds its own essence, it holds its own nature, and it possesses the nature of self, which is the holding of all dharmas. Because there is no reality, the moment of grasping and being grasped exists only at the moment of arising. This is said to be merely the nature of consciousness, which is emptiness, empty of the nature of grasping consciousness and so on, and the characteristics of what is to be known. Their cause, form and so on, are the nature of what is to be grasped. If they truly exist in the ultimate truth, in a non-artificial way, then they will not do anything. Therefore, connect this with the present form and so on, the characteristics of the afflicted aggregates, and the characteristics of the path as an antidote, the past and the future do not exist, therefore, even the moment of its arising, the present moment is non-existent, therefore they will not do anything. Just as the sky is constant, even if all dharmas are momentary, what difference is there if there is no outstanding action? Because there is nothing, according to your view, meditation is fruitless, and who can prevent not understanding the nature of the Dharma? It should be understood in this way. And, just as a painter, draws a terrifying image of a yaksha, and after drawing it, he himself is afraid, so is the one who is not skilled in samsara. This is a response to what has been said. Furthermore, the meaning stated in the form of verses, that is, because of this and so on. Because it is so, for things, that is, form and so on, clinging to appearances, turning into true cognition, this itself is inverted and unreasonable, therefore it will not be prevented. Even in the state of the Bhagavan it is so. Therefore, who is the Bhagavan, that is, the fully enlightened Buddha, who has completely abandoned all cognitive obscurations including habits, and prevents the grasper and so on, and acknowledges the existence of all dharmas, that is, form and so on, and thinks that they exist in the ultimate truth, then this is acknowledging mutually contradictory meanings. I, through direct realization of samadhi

Considering it amazing, even if attachment manifestly arises towards a mistaken object, if afflictions were to cease, why would that not be the same as ordinary individuals at that time? The noble Maitreya contemplated thus. From a supreme cause alone does a supreme result arise; just as a rice sprout arises from a Koṭrapa seed, it does not arise from anything else. Since this is something that everyone should acknowledge, this supreme result of abandoning afflictions is not possible from the path of seeing that has been defiled by viewing non-supreme objects. This should be understood. In the Ornament of the Middle Way, it says: "From a pure cause, a pure result arises. Like the limbs, etc., of discipline that arise from correct views, all are pure." And in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, it says: "Sometimes, a single method, over a long period of time, through training with this, qualities and faults are eliminated." This is what is being said. Thus, by refuting the side of existence, it is shown that the tenets of what is apprehended, etc., are not true tenets. Thus, having firmly established and ascertained the tenet of selflessness that pervades all aspects of no-own-being, those who desire liberation should only accept this. Those who desire complete enlightenment should only accept this aspect of the selflessness of all things, because it is the only one that is reasonable. This is the side of abiding, the definitive tenet. What is spoken in the intervening verses is: "In this," and so forth. "In this, there is nothing to be refuted," because the cause of not being liberated, therefore, one should refute the views of the inner materialists, etc., who fabricate things such as truly existing essence. "There is nothing to be added," because one should not indicate with the self, etc., that is fabricated by externalists, etc. The way of viewing conventional and ultimate reality, etc., is the remainder. Refuting the view of non-existence is what is mentioned by saying "truth," and so forth. "Truth" is the truth that arises dependently, like what appears as it is.
