"The path has three aspects" is what is being said. The good path has three aspects, which is the concluding statement. "And" means to gather together. What is being said here is that in the situation dominated by what should be abandoned, it is precisely what should be abandoned. Meditation, which is the previously mentioned stage of application, any mind and mental factors of the path of meditation that arise continuously, is the first distinction of the object of focus. Its object of focus, which is the nine types of clinging, such as the summary of the Dharma, etc., is the discriminating thought of what should be taken and abandoned as appropriate. All discriminating thoughts should be abandoned, therefore it is said "the first" etc. The meaning of the verse is that it speaks of "spiritual friend" etc. Because of being separated from spiritual friends etc., one cannot be shown the correct oral instructions, and because there is no faith etc., the mind of enlightenment does not arise. Because of the purity of the three spheres, whatever merit arises from focusing on the particularly excellent Buddha, because focusing is enlightenment, it is the essence, or the situation of manifesting it, not paying attention is not focusing. Hearers etc., is saying that because they are of the lineage of hearers and solitary realizers, they hope to realize the fruit of the path. Prajnaparamita is what was previously stated. That which has no practice, which is separated from cultivation, not paying attention to true enlightenment, is not focusing on the fully enlightened Buddha. Because of having focus, focusing on clinging etc., is focusing on the form etc. that is being cultivated. Because of having no focus, not focusing on clinging etc., having no cultivation, is not focusing on form etc. Because of neither having focus nor not having focus, not focusing and focusing, is neither having cultivation nor not having cultivation, which is not focusing and focusing on form etc. Because of clinging to what is inverted, clinging to clinging etc. Because of the meaning of not being as it is, it is because it is inverted. That situation is what should be abandoned.

The term "to be practiced" refers to what should be abandoned in the state of control. The mind and mental events previously mentioned in the path of meditation refer to special cognitive sensations and so on. The state of entering these is whatever difference constantly arises. Its object is what is to be grasped by it, and so on. The meaning of the verses such as "grasping" is that "existing as substance" and so on have been mentioned. "Not born as substance" means that it is not reasonable to be born as truly existing. Imputed as sentient beings are the terms for individuals and so on. "Because it is merely appearance" means that because external objects are not allowed to exist, it is imputed as phenomena because it is sentient beings, which are terms for form and so on. "Because it goes everywhere" means that because it does not abide anywhere, it is not reasonable to exist, so the three qualities of all-knowingness and so on, such as generating the mind, exist as non-emptiness. "Because attachment to all aspects has not been abandoned" means that attachment to grasping and so on in all aspects is not prevented. Attachment to phenomena is attachment to form and so on. "Realizing the lack of inherent existence" means that by knowing that form and so on do not exist, one should know the excellent discrimination of phenomena, which is the distinction of the parts of form and so on. "Not doing what is to be done" means that because one does not focus on the three types of actions mentioned earlier, one does what is to be done for things, which is to focus on showing the meaning of internal and external self-nature. "Because one does not focus on form and so on" means that because there is no grasping and so on, one does not understand form and so on, so one definitely emerges through the three vehicles, which is to directly realize the fruit of all-knowingness. "Not truly entering" means that because there is no grasping and so on, there is no direct knowledge, so it is impure merit, which is not purifying the objects given by disciples and so on. "Meditating by focusing on giving and so on" means focusing on objects such as meditation, what is to be thought, and both.
