Commentary on the Difficult to Understand Appearance, a commentary on the Abhisamayalankara-nama-prajnaparamitopadesasastra. Composed by the teacher Serlingpa Chokyi Drakpa. For the benefit of beings who delight in the extensive, it is explained through the eight topics. Summary. In Sanskrit: Abhisamayalankara-nama-prajnaparamitopadesasastra-vrtti-duravabodhaloka-nama-tika. In Tibetan: Commentary on the Difficult to Understand Appearance, a commentary on the Abhisamayalankara-nama-prajnaparamitopadesasastra. Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Homage to Arya Manjushri Kumarabhuta! Glorious, possessing a perfectly pure Bodhi, I bow to Mipham, who composed this concise collection of words. The commentary before the glorious face of Simhabhadra, I shall explain the collection of difficult-to-understand words and meanings. Because the Victorious One has said that all those without leisure will abandon it with faith, therefore, may noble beings be tolerant of this truly composed treatise. Most authors of all treatises possess conceptualization, in order to bring it to completion, and in order to make the engagement in listening and so forth without obstacles, therefore, they pay homage to their deity of faith. First, paying homage to the deity of the Victorious One, is to say "Prajnaparamita" and so forth. Wisdom is knowing by the nature of listening and so forth. Its going to the other shore is reaching the ultimate, the non-dual wisdom, and its meaning, path, and treatises, by the distinction of real and imputed, Prajnaparamita is of three types. Paying homage to that is respectfully bowing with body and so forth. For what purpose? Because that is the ornament, the cause of manifest highness and definite goodness, therefore, the eight Abhisamayas are the ornament of that place. Those concise collections of words are the meaning of its essence.
