The phrase "it is not allowed in essence" is the remainder. Because it would lead to the fallacy of being permanent, etc., that is, if it is admitted that the second moment arises without the first moment, then it is itself without a cause, because a causeless thing does not depend on others. Therefore, it would lead to the fallacy of being either permanent or non-existent. Things sometimes arise because they depend on conditions. With such reasoning, it would lead to the fallacy of being either permanent or non-existent. In that case, there would be no arising even in conventional truth, because if it is admitted that the second moment arises without the first moment, then everything would be a result, without any difference, so there is no arising even in conventional truth, and there are no causes and effects, etc., related to it, it should be understood in this way. Or, if the second moment arises without depending on the first moment, then because it is permanent, the moment of the cause does not cease. Non-existence is also because it has no power, so the burning of firewood is also non-existent in conventional truth. Therefore, flame and firewood are not causes, etc., it should be understood in this way. The reason why it is said that the burning of firewood in conventional truth is only when the first moment and the second moment meet is because of this. Because in that way, the former and latter moments are not allowed to be each, therefore, arising from this cause and this condition, this condition is only this, the nature of dependent arising which has such a nature, that is, the nature that arises from depending on cause and condition, is what establishes flame and firewood in the state of being able to burn and being burned, this is the remainder. Why is that? When the two meet and gather, the moment of meeting the second, etc., can be produced, if one does not rely on that moment when both flame and firewood can meet and examine it as a cause, then the so-called "completely delightful" is the power of the causal relationship in conventional truth. Because of that reason, the special power that is led and imputed by the first moment, that is, the nature of being able to burn, is that, and not other dissimilar kinds. Especially firewood

The second moment, etc., capable of producing combustion. If there are second and third moments, etc., then at that time, even if the moment of the cause called "without cause" naturally disappears, the cause and effect, that is, the characteristics of flame and core, arise and disappear in order simultaneously, like the high and low of a balance beam. Whatever arises and ceases is the object of close observation. Because, the fruit of fire is smoke, because it follows the law of the fruit. If it exists without it, it will transcend the category of having a cause. Through such reasoning, in five ways of manifestation and non-manifestation, flame and core are cause and effect with the nature of entering and leaving, so they can be observed. Furthermore, if anything is indeed not suitable as an entity of cause and effect, then it is not reliable, because on that side, following and diverging should be considered to be accompanied. Otherwise, on that side, various things will become causeless or the cause will be uncertain, because it is uncertain. The author of Pramāṇavārttika said, "If everything has no power, then seeds, etc., for sprouts, etc., if power is seen, that is conventional truth, if admitted, then it ends as it is." And in the Ornament of the Middle Way it is said, "The nature of all things is to follow the path of wisdom, eliminating the views of other sects, therefore evil debaters have no place to stand." Etc., these are mentioned. With "by" etc., the examples shown by examples, such as the examples of enlightenment and lamp, are mentioned. Two successive moments, for the same object, that is, the burning belonging to the lamp. Closely connected to it, that is, knowing that it is its cause, this refers to manifestation. Focusing on this, that is, taking it as the main thing, understanding it through wisdom with the example of the lamp. The limited object that accomplishes enlightenment is the characteristic of the eight Abhisamayas, or the characteristic of mindfulness, etc. The consciousness that appears there is because it takes the eight Abhisamayas, etc., as the cause of the discriminating mind.
