Pa'o. If someone has previously seen the Buddhas directly and has accumulated merit by honoring them with respect, then it should not be said, why didn't he accomplish listening to the Prajnaparamita and other teachings from them? Because at that time they would not be directly tamed by him, but now, through that method or lineage, that virtuous friend tames him, so listening to the Prajnaparamita and other teachings can occur. In the Suvarnaprabhasa Sutra, it says that the Tathagata's teachings eliminate all obscurations, therefore, there is no fault in attending to and honoring the virtuous friend residing in Varanasi. The term "form and so on" refers to explaining the meaning of the excellent activity of combination. In reality, form and so on, by their very nature of being without inherent existence, do not abide, and this is non-attachment. Not combining with form and so on is the very combination, which is not focusing on the three things to be meditated upon and so on. Form and so on are themselves emptiness by their very suchness, therefore, the profound, immeasurable, and limitless nature of not abiding, not perceiving, being without self-nature and defilement, and the very non-focusing on the infinite. For those who understand and possess knowledge in this way, the five combinations, such as "because of not abiding in form and so on," explain the meaning of not abiding in form and so on. To be afraid of the Prajnaparamita, suffering with great effort and long periods of time, and attaining complete enlightenment through countless eons. Attaining Buddhahood from the Buddhas, thereby obtaining time, name, and certainty, etc., is to receive a prophecy. Not being afraid of this is to explain that because it takes great effort and a long time to realize, it is called a prophecy. Truly grasping non-reversion is grasping the meaning of the Prajnaparamita and so on in a non-inverted way. Definite emergence means abandoning those faults mentioned below that are obstacles to obtaining unsurpassed wisdom, and this is abandoning them through the power of virtuous friends and so on. The mind that constantly meditates on the Dharma without interruption or cessation

It is practiced with reverence and so on. From one's own perspective, it is the near cause of truly manifesting complete enlightenment, and it is the unpolluted Dharma, the basis of gold. If it is only to become a Buddha, in the case of near attainment, because it is separated from the vision of the Dharma that is realized, therefore, what has not happened before is the nature of non-afflictive wisdom, which is the basis of holding the ten powers and so on. Quickly manifesting complete enlightenment, and the fruit Dharmakaya manifesting accomplishment, is to perfect the Dharmakaya of the basis of the ten powers and so on of others. Therefore, one prays in this way, that is, "Enlightenment near and quick," which explains the two kinds of enlightenment. Turning the wheel of Dharma for the benefit of others is to teach the Dharma at all times and places. There is no increase and no decrease, and not seeing the increase and decrease of form and so on is non-apprehension. Dharma is form and so on. Non-Dharma is space and so on. The word "etc." includes individuals and so on. These untrue views are non-attention to Dharma and non-Dharma, that is, non-attention to this in the desire realm. By emptiness of the inconceivable aspect of form and so on, and whatever is non-apprehension, for this, there is no self-importance of the inconceivable aspect of form and so on, that is, there is no attachment to the nature of form and so on. Not discriminating about things like form and so on is not discriminating about form and its characteristics, and its nature, that is, there is no discrimination about the form aggregate and blue and so on, and the great elements and so on. Giving precious fruits is giving the precious fruits from the stream-enterer fruit and so on up to the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment. Seeing the first fruit is knowing the fruit of the stream-enterer and so on. Purity is the stainlessness of suchness, which is the complete purity of form, that is, the form aggregate and so on are stainless. The sign is the determination of the time of questioning and so on, not abandoning the present diligence in the cycle of existence, called having the practice of etc.
