The so-called "Likewise from the basis," refers to the conceptualizations that grasp with the object of the person, the substantially existent, and the individual, the nominally existent. In brief, its meaning is as follows: Merely with the object of all afflictions, etc., each has nine aspects. Among them, the meaning in brief is: With the basis of all afflictions as the basis, such as ignorance, aggregates like form, attachment to the appearance of name and form, attachment to the two extremes, not knowing afflictions and purification, not abiding in the noble path, object, self, etc., and arising of purity, etc., the conceptualizations that arise with these as the object; with the antidote as the basis, such as aggregates, gateways of birth, lineage, birth, emptiness, the meaning of the pāramitās, view, meditation, the path of no more learning, the conceptualizations that arise with these as the object; with the person, the substantially existent, as the basis, such as self, independent one, solitary, cause, agent, etc., the self, and afflictions, detachment, view, meditation, the basis of what has been done, the conceptualizations that grasp with these as the object; with the individual, the nominally existent, as the basis, such as aggregates and sense bases, elements, dependent origination, purification, view, meditation, distinction, the path of no more learning, the conceptualizations that grasp with these as the object. Such four conceptualizations and the four aspects conforming to the decisive discrimination are possessed according to their number. Although it has been said before that the complete holding is in accordance with the verses, in order to explain that by the power of it, what has been said before will become special, therefore, at the end, the intermediate verses are added: "Mind not shrinking, etc., showing selflessness, etc., abandoning the opposing qualities of that, is holding in all aspects." It means that with skillful means such as mind not shrinking, not being afraid, etc., truly showing all things as selfless, etc., not possessing stinginess, etc., which are non-conforming qualities, is a virtuous friend, therefore, one should completely hold.

It is so. As it is said, it conforms to the aspect of decisive distinction for those who possess accomplishment, and because other qualities such as the path of seeing arise, it becomes the basis for accomplishment. The six qualities of realization are: antidote and abandonment, and their completeness, wisdom endowed with compassion, the non-common nature of disciples, the order of benefiting others, and wisdom without effort, should be known as the basis for entering. Thus it is said. Briefly, first are those that conform to the aspect of decisive distinction in the worldly realm. Next are the path of seeing and the path of meditation, which are beyond the world. Next, by the power of their arising, like a thief being driven out and a door bolt being cut, the arising and ceasing of the antidote and the opposing side occur simultaneously. Next, because they are not apprehended, the conceptualization associated with their arising and ceasing is abandoned. Next, by the power of skillful means such as past aspirations and generosity, there is wisdom and means characterized by not abiding in samsara and nirvana. Next, because they arise, there are the non-common qualities with shravakas and others. Next, the order of benefiting others is characterized by flexibly applying the three vehicles to the path, according to how one thinks, such as engaging in activities. Next, as long as samsara exists, the wisdom of benefiting others arises without signs and spontaneously accomplished. This is the order. With this, all the purposes of individuals are also perfectly fulfilled. By the distinctions of the different stages of the Dharma of accomplishment, it is shown that only the very nature of the Dharmadhatu, which is the basis of the Dharma, as it is said of the thirteen kinds of Bodhisattvas, is the lineage. If the Dharmadhatu alone is the cause for realizing the noble Dharma, therefore, is the Bodhisattva of that nature the lineage that abides in the nature of the unsurpassed Buddha Dharma? If so, then at that time, since it is universally present, it is not only a Bodhisattva. To dispel this doubt in the minds of those of inferior intelligence, this intermediate verse is made.
