Its distinctions are explained by small, medium, and large. The nature of the distinction of the object of focus is to focus on the reality of the Four Noble Truths. By the antidote of viewing it as Dharma, it enters into aspects such as non-attachment. It is the nature of the cause for realizing all three vehicles. It possesses the characteristic of being upheld by a virtuous friend who is skilled in means. It arises in connection with the manner in which the four types of conceptualizations to be abandoned by seeing and meditation will be explained, and it is superior to the heat stage and so on of the Hearers and others. The roots of virtue of those who have become the heat stage and so on are: Based on the Four Noble Truths, which are the nature of the reality of characteristics such as being able to become form according to reason, as the object of focus, entering into aspects such as impermanence by the antidote of viewing as self, solely for the sake of realizing one's own vehicle, being separated from upholding, and arising without possessing the four types of conceptualizations, as it is said. Those that are in accordance with the definitive aspects of the Bodhisattvas are: By the power of skillful means, in some cases through the door of cause, in some cases through the door of result, in some cases through the door of nature, and in some cases through the door of the aspect of Dharma-nature, they focus on the reality of the Four Noble Truths as appropriate. Just as before, it should be known that they also focus on the Four Noble Truths in other ways. Because I want to briefly explain only the distinctions, I have not elaborated. Because this is just another establishment, one should not rely on other vehicles to proclaim refutations anywhere. If asked what the difference is between the object of focus and the aspect, then the object of focus and the aspect are explained by seven intermediate verses: The object of focus is impermanence and so on, it possesses the support of the Truths, its aspect prevents manifestation, attachment, and so on, it is the cause for obtaining all three vehicles, form and so on are gathered, separated from location, without location, imputation, and expression. Thus it is said. Among these, the object of focus of the small is impermanence and so on, which relies on the Four Noble Truths such as suffering.

There are sixteen aspects. Their aspects are to eliminate the manifest clinging to truths such as suffering and the objects of focus, etc. All warmth and so on should be understood as being the nature of the cause for attaining realization in all three vehicles. The intermediate object of focus is said to be the accomplishment of forms and so on according to their number by means of faith and suchness-mindfulness, and the elimination of non-focus and non-seeing. The aspect is said to be the absence of all names, with the characteristic of entering into dissimilar and similar continuums. The great object of focus is said to be that all phenomena from form to what is called Buddha are imputed conventional phenomena. The aspect is said to be that the very nature of virtue and so on cannot be expressed anywhere. Thus, because it is a precursor to the fire of non-conceptual wisdom, it becomes warmth, possessing object of focus and aspect, there are three aspects. Form etc. do not abide, those do not have self-nature in their essence, those one's nature is one, it does not abide in impermanence etc., those are empty in its essence, those one's nature is one, whatever does not grasp phenomena, because those do not see as signs, it is completely conceived by wisdom, all are without object of focus. It is said. The small object of focus is said to be that form and so on are the very nature that is separated from its own nature, therefore, it does not abide in form and so on by its own nature of emptiness. The aspect is said to be that in ultimate reality, all phenomena such as form and so on, and emptiness and so on, are of one nature with each other, therefore, because there is no impermanence and so on in emptiness, it does not abide in those forms and so on as permanence and impermanence and so on. The intermediate object of focus is said to be that by the nature of the element of phenomena, impermanence and so on and emptiness and so on are without their own nature, therefore, impermanence and so on and emptiness and so on are of one self-nature with each other. The aspect is whatever does not grasp form and so on as oneself because of the cessation of nature. The great object of focus is without nature.
