Reaching ultimate understanding. The three aspects and ten aspects in an instant. Attaining complete enlightenment with one. Its characteristics are fourfold. The self-nature, enjoyment, and completeness, and likewise, the other emanation. The Dharma body, along with its activities, is truly spoken of as four aspects. Thus it is said. Among these, the first two verses are a brief explanation because they summarize the eight objects. The thirteen verses summarize the meaning of those very things and explain them extensively. Thus, because of the brief explanation and the extensive explanation, it is a well-spoken explanation. The verses of the summarized meaning, etc., are by the author of the treatise himself. The arising of the mind is for the sake of others. And so on, explained by all the treatises that will be explained. Thinking that they are explained in various ways, fearing that there would be the fault of repetition, they were not explained separately. Extensive explanation of the branches. Commentary on the first chapter. Having thus shown all the summarized meanings, since the Bodhisattva wishes to attain Bodhi, because it is the fruit, it is necessary to attain the knowledge of all aspects. First, one intends to explain the summarized verses of that very knowledge of all aspects in various ways, that is, to speak of the arising of the mind along with its own nature and object, etc. The arising of the mind is for the sake of others. One desires perfect and complete enlightenment. Thus it is said, having become a Buddha, one should strive as much as possible for the sake of others. Thus, the arising of the mind is for the sake of others, the nature of desiring perfect and complete enlightenment, is the nature of both the aspiration and the action. Desiring perfect and complete enlightenment is precisely seeking that meaning, it is the desire for virtuous Dharma, which arises from the mind. Isn't the arising of the mind referring to the mind's object, which is the appearance of a particularly excellent object, not the cause of arising? If so, how does that become the arising of the mind? Although it is true, yet here, if there is the nature of desiring virtuous Dharma, it is the Bodhicitta showing the fruit by the cause. Thus, all the virtuous Dharma of the Bodhisattva who seeks meaning will increase. In order to know this, it is said relying on the approximation.
