Accomplishing in that, and completely holding the vast fruit, accomplishing the meaning of sentient beings, and the qualities of definitely attaining, etc., according to their number, blessed by the Buddhas, seen by intention and wisdom, becoming close, great benefit, doing activities, the Dharma of complete antidote, speaking the words of all-knowingness, being a friend, generating great joy, rejoicing in the words of their vows, manifesting the desire for profound Dharma, doing the meaning of sentient beings, and completely obtaining Prajnaparamita, these are manifest joy in the unmistaken practice And arising and obtaining, are fourteen qualities. After that, again, by what complete abandonment should the practices be meditated upon, what are the faults that obstruct the practice? The faults that become obstacles to them, the faults are in units of four sets of ten, and six must be understood. It is said: Obtaining with great difficulty, and, too rapid arrogance, the bad situation of the body, the bad situation of the mind, and the speech generated by non-reason, etc., and holding onto outward reasons, losing attachment to causes, losing the taste of delicious flavors, losing the holding of all kinds of supreme vehicles, constantly losing special actions, this is called the first set of ten. The connection between cause and effect is lost, the unsurpassed is lost, the arrogance of arising discriminating thoughts on many objects, manifesting attachment to writing, manifesting attachment to non-things, manifesting attachment to letters, manifesting attachment to non-letters, attending to objects, etc., tasting the flavors of gain and respect and verses, seeking skillful means by the wrong path, this is called the second set of ten.

With the loss (of precepts), and with and without the qualities of practice, and the nature of virtue and non-virtue, and generosity and stinginess, and giving and not receiving, and understanding by mentioning the beginning, and understanding by elaborating in detail, and knowing and not knowing the Dharma such as the Sutras, and having and not having the six perfections, this is called the third set of ten. Similarly, being skilled in means and non-means, and having and not having obtained dharanis, and wanting to write letters and not wanting to write letters, and having and not having desire, these are called four. And turning away from the path of evil destinies, and being happy to go to happy destinies, these are two. And the speaker and the listener, whichever is earlier or later, by association, are individually one according to number. And being very happy with the retinue, and not distinguishing opportunities, and wanting to be associated afterwards, and wanting a little bit of wealth, and not wanting to give those away, and going in the direction that will and will not become an obstacle to life, these are called four, this is the fourth set of ten. Similarly, going and not going in the direction where famine occurs, and going and not going in the direction disturbed by thieves and so on, and being unhappy because of looking at houses, these are called three. And the union that is separated by demons, and closely fabricating falsehoods, and generating happiness that is not in accordance with reality, these are called another three. Thus, there are forty-six faults. In order, one should meditate on those that are combined by taking and rejecting qualities and faults, because this is preceded by knowing the characteristics, so after the faults are the characteristics of those. What is indicated by what, that is the characteristic. The knowable is also of three kinds. Knowledge is what distinguishes, and the essence is also what is to be indicated. It is said that by establishing action, because this indicates those combinations, therefore, knowledge and, difference and, action and, establishing in action, because those are to be indicated, therefore it is the characteristic of the essence. The characteristic should be understood as four types. Among them, the characteristic of knowledge, with the three divisions of omniscience.
