Because of the intervening. What is not a means is prolonged, and what is a means is not prolonged. Thus, the prolonged practice of the mother of the Hearers and others is itself a non-conforming aspect, as it is said in the sutra: "Form and other aggregates are emptiness, all phenomena included in the three times, generosity and other aspects of enlightenment, the thought of practice is non-conforming." Form and other phenomena of the three times, with and without outflows, the nature of both, all that has not become a real object, taking a real object as a condition, viewing the self and others conceived by others as emptiness. Although the thought of practice is an antidote, it is to be abandoned because it is practiced in a reversed way, therefore it is a non-conforming aspect. Bodhisattvas, on the contrary, are antidotes, as it is said in the sutra: "Generosity and others have no ego-grasping, others combine with them, they prevent the extreme of attachment, therefore attachment to the victors and others is subtle." With the purity of the three spheres, realizing that generosity and others are selfless, combining self and others, because it is practiced properly, and because it prevents all places of attachment, it is to be taken, therefore it is an antidote in every way. Paying homage to the Tathagata and others is the cause of the accumulation of merit, therefore it is an antidote, but with the nature of subtle attachment, it is not in every way, therefore it is a non-conforming aspect. Third Chapter Again, how is subtle attachment a non-conforming aspect? It is said in the sutra: "The path of Dharma is by nature, because of stillness, it is profound." Because the kinds of phenomena are empty only by their own nature, therefore they are profound. Focusing on the Tathagata is also a non-conforming aspect. Then how to eliminate it? It is said in the sutra: "Knowing that the nature of all phenomena is one, attachment is eliminated by knowledge." It is said in the sutra: "All phenomena such as form are only one in nature, thus knowing that nature is without, and that the knowable is equally one, complete knowledge is the elimination of attachment." Again, how is the nature of all phenomena profound?

Furthermore, it is said, "Because of preventing seeing and so on, it is said that it is difficult to realize." This is because all consciousnesses eliminate the meaning of the object, so it is said that its nature is difficult to realize. Therefore, it is profound. Moreover, what is that nature that is so difficult to realize? "Because of not knowing form and so on, it is considered inconceivable." This is because the nature from form and so on up to the unmixed aspects of the Buddha's teachings is not fully understood, so it is considered beyond thought. Therefore, it is difficult to realize. Having described the dissimilar aspects and so on, the conclusion is made: "Thus, in the system of all-knowingness, all the distinctions of the dissimilar and opposing aspects, as explained, should be understood here." This means that in the context of all-knowingness, the dissimilar aspects and opposing distinctions of the Hearers, Bodhisattvas, and so on should be understood in order, according to the way they have been explained. Having described the dissimilar aspects and so on, what is the method for meditating on them? Method: "Form and so on, their impermanence and so on, their incompleteness and complete perfection, on their non-attachment, the method of preventing conduct, the unchanging non-existence of a maker, the method of the three difficult aspects, because the fruit is obtained according to one's share, the desire for the fruit and that which does not depend on others, the seven appearances should be known." This means all phenomena such as form and so on, and their impermanence and so on, emptiness and so on, separate incompleteness and completeness, non-attachment, immutability, the non-existence of a maker, the difficulty of acting for the sake of the nature of the three aspects of all-knowingness in order, the method and parts, the non-emptiness because the fruit is obtained according to one's share, the non-dependence on other conditions, complete transformation, simultaneous gathering, contradiction, condition, non-transference, non-reliance, and non-agent, knowing them as the seven appearances to be proven.
