By causing all beings in all realms to understand the sacred Dharma, one possesses the voice of Brahma; by abandoning frivolous words, one's cheeks resemble a lion's; by honoring all beings, one's teeth are white; by living a completely pure life, one's teeth are even; by constantly using truthful speech, one's teeth are well-aligned; by abandoning divisive speech, one possesses forty teeth; by regarding all beings as one's only child, one's eyes are the color of blue lotuses; by being without anger, one's eyelashes are like those of a bull. The cause being accomplished, the signs are accomplished, this is the intermediate verse: For this, which sign, what is the cause of accomplishment? If that and that are perfectly complete, these signs will be truly accomplished. Thus it is said, whatever sign is accomplished by whatever cause, that cause being extremely complete, these thirty-two signs will arise. What is that cause? After that, there are intermediate verses: Offering to the guru and so forth, and properly taking up stability, gathering, relying, and abundance, giving things and those to be tamed, liberating and virtuous deeds, properly taking up increase and so forth, are the characteristics of the cause of accomplishment, as it appears in the sutra. Thus it is said, these two verses have already been explained in the explanation of the signs above, so they will not be repeated. Having thus spoken of the signs, the eighty minor marks are spoken of in twelve intermediate verses: The nails of the Able One are the color of red copper, the color is lustrous and high, and the fingers are round and full, subtly graceful, the veins are invisible and without knots. The ankles are invisible, the feet are even, walking like a lion, elephant, bird, and bull, going to the right, walking beautifully and upright, with a graceful gait. The body is clean, soft, and pure, the signs are completely perfect, the body is broad and beautiful. The steps are even, and the two eyes are pure and youthful, the body is not shrunken and full, the body is very tight, the limbs are very distinct, the gaze is unobstructed and pure, the waist is round, the abdomen is flat and not bent, drooping, and the navel is deep.

And swirling to the right, beautiful in every way, with pure conduct and a body without black moles, hands as soft as cotton, hand lines bright, deep, and long, a face not too long, lips as red as the bimba fruit, a tongue soft and thin, red and with the sound of a dragon, a voice soft and gentle, teeth round, sharp, white, and even, limbs slender and a nose high, supremely pure, eyes wide and eyelashes thick, like lotus petals, eyebrows long and smooth, lustrous and hair even, hands long and full, ears even, completely abandoning decay, a forehead well-defined, broad and a head full, hair as black as a bee, thick, smooth, and unmingled, not falling out, with a fragrant scent, captivating the minds of men, the goddess of fortune and auspiciousness, are considered the excellent signs of a Buddha. This is because, without attachment to all conditioned phenomena, the nails are like the color of copper, with a superior intention to benefit all sentient beings, the nails are lustrous in color, born from a noble lineage, the nails are high, conduct is without fault, the fingers are round, accumulating roots of virtue, the fingers are full, completely entering into the ultimate, the fingers are slender. Because the actions and livelihood of the body and so forth are well protected, the veins are not visible, having untied the knots of afflictions, the veins are without knots, possessing the wisdom of a very hidden Dharma, the ankles are not visible, liberating beings from all difficult places to traverse, the feet are even, skilled in not being oppressed by others, walking like a lion, skilled in subduing nagas, walking like an elephant king, skilled in walking in the sky, walking like a goose king, skilled in being the best among men, walking like the best, walking in accordance with the direction of circumambulation.

By proceeding with a rightward turn, by proceeding in beauty through mastery of aesthetics, by proceeding without wavering due to constant absence of mental agitation, by being adorned with a body through truly proclaiming virtues, by being like a wiped body due to not being stained by sinful dharmas, by having a body that is successively fitting due to showing the dharma that is suitable for those to be tamed, by having a completely pure body because of the purity of all conduct such as the body, by having a gentle body because of having a compassionate heart, by having a completely pure body because of having a completely pure heart, by having complete marks because of the completeness of the Dharma Vinaya, by having wide and excellent limbs of the body because of the completeness of wide and beautiful qualities, by having steady steps because of having equanimity towards all, by having completely pure eyes because of showing the completely pure Dharma, by having a very youthful body because of showing the Dharma in an easy-to-understand way, by having a body without shrinking because of having a heart that is always unyielding, by having a full body because the roots of virtue are truly elevated, by having a very tight body because of the exhaustion of rebirth, by having limbs and sub-limbs that are extremely distinct because of showing the extremely distinct dependent arising, by having a clear and completely pure vision because of showing the meaning of words that are extremely pure, by having a round waist because the disciples are endowed with perfect discipline, by having a well-proportioned waist because of not being stained by the faults of samsara, by having a waist that is not stiff because of subduing the arrogance of pride, by being flat and relaxed because of averting the exhaustion of the Dharma, by having a deep navel because of realizing the profound Dharma, by having a navel that swirls to the right because of causing the disciples to be harmonious, by being all-around beautiful because the retinue is all-around beautiful, by having pure conduct because of having a pure heart, by having a body without moles and blemishes because of being separated from the untimely Dharma Vinaya, by showing the Dharma of obtaining ease in the form and color of the body and so on, therefore
