It is explained that this shows your own body, not the Dharmakaya, because the cause of essence is not manifested. So, what are those uncontaminated dharmas that are characterized by the nature of the Dharmakaya? It enters into verses such as "Enlightenment, concordant, immeasurable, etc." Others say, according to these views, how can yogis, in the conventional, through the generation of appearances with special meaning, in a completely transformed way, collect those minds and mental factors that are inseparably engaged in meaningful activities such as teaching the Dharma, which must inevitably be acknowledged? Some say, "The essence, the enjoyment body, and likewise the other, the emanation body, the Dharmakaya together with activity, are truly spoken of as four." From this verse, since the word "Dharmakaya" does not appear at the end of the word "essence," there are only three bodies. Others say that through the force of the need to closely indicate, on the surface of the verse, it is said that way because wisdom itself is combined with activity. Therefore, all the four bodies spoken of from other aspects will not be contradictory. In order to distinguish the samadhi without afflictions of the Hearers, etc., from the samadhi without afflictions of the Buddha, the intermediate verse says: "The Hearer's view without afflictions, completely abandons the afflictions of humans, in towns, etc., their afflictions, the Victorious One's afflictions are perpetually cut off." The samadhi without afflictions of the Hearers, etc., is not allowed if some afflictions arise from the view of self, so it is the very abandonment of the arising of human afflictions. The samadhi without afflictions of the Thus-gone Ones is that which uproots the stream of afflictions of all beings in towns, etc. In order to distinguish the knowledge arising from aspiration of the Hearers, etc., from the knowledge arising from aspiration of the Thus-gone Ones, the intermediate verse says: "The Buddha's knowledge arising from aspiration is spontaneously accomplished and

Having abandoned, unobstructed, permanent, and willing to answer all questions. Thus it was said that the Tathagata's knowledge from aspiration is that it enters naturally into the absence of characteristics, and because it is not manifestly attached to things, it is free from attachment to forms and so on, and because it has abandoned afflictions and cognitive obscurations together with habitual tendencies, it is unobstructed to all knowable things, and it abides forever because it abides as long as samsara exists, and because it has attained perfect individual wisdom, it is considered to be the one who answers questions. The Shravakas and so on are the opposite of this, and it is not so. Even though it always abides in the Dharmakaya, which is the essence of great compassion, why does it not always do what is beneficial? In order to answer this question, the intermediate verse is: When the cause is fully ripened, to whom and to what, and when doing what is beneficial, then and there it will appear. Thus it was said that having met with virtuous friends and so on, the seed of virtue previously generated, the cause aimed at the Buddhas and so on having fully increased, to whatever sentient being at whatever time doing things such as teaching the Dharma, and having adapted for a long time, at that time, in order to do that thing, the previous aspiration is fulfilled. Therefore, the Bhagavan appears there and there, and in accordance with that, does the work of benefit, so although it abides closely like a wish-fulfilling jewel at all times, because the cause generated by the fault of one's own karma is incomplete, it is thought that it will not appear to ripen the fruit. If you want to know what that is like, use the intermediate verse as an example: Although the king of gods sends down rain, bad seeds do not grow, although the Buddhas appear, those without fortune do not enjoy goodness. Thus it was said that, for example, even if the lord of the gods sends down rain, but sesame seeds and so on rot, the seeds become bad, and do not grow, similarly, the Buddhas are wise ones who fulfill all hopes in their minds, but although they appear, because they have no fortune, they will not be able to obtain good things such as listening to the holy Dharma. The Dharmakaya, which is the nature of wisdom, exists in the basis of the continuum individually determined by the yogis, in an instant.
