The teacher's excellent establishment is the leopard. Merely as the cause of enlightenment, for those who correctly bestow the Prajñāpāramitā through correct words and meanings, etc., this is the second. The unobstructed cause for attaining enlightenment, the Prajñāpāramitā itself, such as practicing meditation, etc., having the nature of great merit, this is the third. For what purpose is the path of seeing regarded as having such a cause, then what is the Great Bodhi? The intermediate verse says: Great Bodhi, is the exhaustion of defilements and the unborn, called Wisdom Bodhi, because of exhaustion and unborn, therefore they should be understood in order. Thus it is said. The defilements of the afflictive obscurations and the obscurations to knowledge, which are considered to be born and unborn, apart from the Dharmadhātu, there is no such thing as phenomena, thus it is said. Because the nature of the Dharmadhātu is like space, without cessation and arising? Or, because there are no things that can be established by the nature of one and many, and the characteristics of cause and effect, etc., so like a lotus in the sky, there is no cessation and arising, therefore in order, the wisdom of the exhaustion and unborn of defilements, is the nature of truly realizing all phenomena, the Dharmakāya, etc., as they are, is called Great Bodhi. For what reason is it so? Because those who, with the thought of the destruction of things, think that exhaustion is the wisdom of exhaustion, and with the thought of the unborn of things, think that unborn is the wisdom of unborn, are called the wisdom of exhaustion and unborn. Bodhi is also called exhaustion and unborn, for those who say exhaustion and unborn, it is not permissible to understand only by the absence of exhaustion and unborn, the intermediate verse says: On the nature without cessation, by the path called the path of seeing, what kind of distinctions will be exhausted? What unborn peaceful aspect will be attained? Thus it is said. Those who are born and unborn, in order, are separated from the cessation of the characteristic of obstructing exhaustion and arising, if it is the nature of suchness in the ultimate truth, then wrongly to things
