Although the specific meanings are very well combined with examples, since it is not possible to combine all aspects, in other instances they are stated in a concise manner, so it is neither slightly summarized into one, nor slightly expanded. It is merely introducing what one wants to express as non-existent into the statement of what one wants to express, without refuting the presentation of that treatise. The explanation of the twenty-ninth chapter, the chapter on mindfulness, from the verses of the 'Compendium of Precious Qualities' is complete. In order to explain what one should accomplish by pleasing a virtuous friend in order to generate and obtain the wisdom of listening, etc., which is the nature of the eight realizations mentioned above, the 'Mother,' etc., was taught. Any Bodhisattva who wishes to wander in samsara for a long time, and similarly, purifies the meaning of sentient beings and Buddha-fields by means of the distinction between the support and the supported, and diligently applies himself to the Buddha's permission, then even if the yogi does not obtain the Mother for a short time, by the power of meditating on all phenomena as illusory, not even a particle of aversion will arise. This is because having obtained the Perfection of Wisdom, he is endowed with the three perfections of diligence, such as acting for the benefit of sentient beings with sentient beings as the object. Since there is no sleep or drowsiness, there will be no distraction. In order to show what faults there are in generating a mind of weariness, 'If,' etc., was taught. If one thinks, 'I will attain Buddhahood after countless eons,' then at that time, an unskilled Bodhisattva, because he perceives the Tathagata's Bodhi as long, therefore perceives suffering, and will suffer for a long time. Because of attachment to phenomena, attachment manifests, therefore the Perfection of Diligence will be lost, and thus it will be transformed into the nature of laziness. So how should one not generate a mind of weariness? 'Supreme Bodhi,' etc., was taught. From the beginning of generating the supreme Bodhichitta, until the time of obtaining the unsurpassed Bodhi Tathagata state, whenever, even if only for one day and one night, one remembers all phenomena

When meditating on illusion-like phenomena as a preliminary practice and abiding solely in conventional truth, one should recognize that diligence is initiated by wise individuals who dispel feelings of discouragement through skillful means. To demonstrate that demons can harm those who have truly entered the path, it is stated, "If someone says," and so on. If someone were to say, "By whatever means the king of mountains, Mount Sumeru, is destroyed, by that very means will supreme enlightenment be attained," upon hearing this, they would develop a discouraged mind due to the impossibility of the task, and they would think, "Mount Sumeru is eighty thousand yojanas in height, and the mind knows its measure." At that time, the bodhisattva would become lazy and, therefore, would not attain enlightenment. This is what is intended. So, what kind of mind should they cultivate? Therefore, it is stated, "As if," and so on. As if that person were to generate this thought, because it is accumulated by the habits of inversion, and because genuine wisdom arises, they would think that even a Mount Sumeru the size of a dust particle could be reduced to ashes in an instant. The wise bodhisattva would then initiate diligence, and before long, they would attain the supreme enlightenment of a guide. The term "guide" should be understood as referring to the Bhagavan. This is the meaning up to that point. To show that diligence that abandons unfavorable factors is flawed if it focuses on real entities, it is stated, "Going," and so on. After fully maturing beings through miraculous powers and conventional truths, if one strives with the intention of benefiting oneself through the miraculous powers of subsequent teachings, and with the thought of surpassing others in body, speech, and mind, then at that time, laziness will be attained due to the increase of afflictions. Otherwise, if one abides in the self-grasping of thinking of oneself as existent and not arising from non-existence, then afflictions such as attachment will arise. Therefore, the sons of the Victorious One will be far from meditating on selflessness as illusion-like, because the nature of real entities and the nature of non-real entities are like earth and sky. This is not the case for those who are endowed with diligence. Furthermore, to show how one is endowed with diligence, it is stated, "When," and so on. When, because of the illusion-like nature, in the body
