Attachment in that way becomes completely defiled by afflictions, and in that way, without attachment, purity also appears and is known. This is what is said. The meaning of the twelfth sign, called approaching the enlightenment of the Buddha, is that the Bhagavan Bodhisattva Mahasattva, if practicing in that way, etc., is what is declared. Similarly, if asked why that is so, after welcoming the doubt, the Bhagavan Buddha himself, etc., declares the four phrases, such as the Buddha himself, etc., with the distinction of the four wisdoms like a mirror. Similarly, what follows is, Subhuti, it is so, etc. It should be known that these are merely the signs of realizing the peak. It is also said: Even in dreams, all dharmas, are seen as dreamlike, etc., are the signs of approaching the peak, and are considered to be twelve kinds. This is what is said. In that way, how many kinds of increase are indicated by the signs? First, showing the increase of merit, such as making offerings to the Tathagata, etc., by sentient beings such as those in Jambudvipa, etc., is superior, is Subhuti, if in Jambudvipa, etc., is what is declared. Mentioning Jambudvipa is merely a brief indication, and sentient beings of the three thousand great thousand world realms are also included here, because it is said so in the twenty-fifth thousand verses. Similarly, if asked why that is so, after welcoming the doubt, Subhuti, how, how, etc., is what is declared. Becoming a place of giving means becoming the field of merit itself. If asked from where these doubts come, after welcoming why that is so, it is like this, etc., is what is declared. Excluding means completely abandoning. As before, if asked why that is so, after welcoming the doubt, the Tathagata is, etc., is what is declared. The three phrases, such as the incomparable person, etc., are because they have understood the meaning of direct perception, inference, and scripture. Others are

It is said that this is because it is taught by the three (mātṛ, tā, ṭā). Other ways also show the overwhelming accumulation of merit, such as "Subhuti, how...?" etc. "Like being killed" means like being worthy of being killed. "Wasting leisure" means declining from things like human form by engaging in sin. "Giver" means giving in person. "The lords of giving" means causing to be completely engaged in giving. "Completely subduing" means having the true fruit, which is its synonym. "With this attention" means with the nature of wanting to show the way to sentient beings, etc. Similarly, in order to welcome the question "Why is that?", it is said "Who should know these...?" etc., what is called "that itself" refers to the master who is skilled in means, the very focus on the mother, is the attention that benefits sentient beings. "How is this" means with the attention of the nature of love, etc. Exhaustion means passing away. Secondly, in particular, the meaning of the increase in the nature of the attention of the Perfection of Wisdom, like Subhuti, for example, as it is said "Abiding in the knowledge of jewels" etc., because one is skilled in the treatises that completely examine jewels, one abides in knowledge. "By knowing the types of jewels" means being completely proficient in weapons. In "Until one obtains that or not that other", "that or that" refers to the Perfection of Wisdom. "Not that other" refers to obtaining the Dharma nature of the Samadhiraja Sutra etc. Some rely on books and say "is that or other". The request is made that because it is emptiness, it should not be inseparable, such as "Bhagavan, thus..." etc. The answer is said "Subhuti, if..." etc. Similarly, in order to welcome the question "Why is that?", it is said "Subhuti..." etc. It is said thus because of what

The perfection of wisdom is emptiness, because it is inherently free from increase and decrease. Therefore, all phenomena are empty. Such focused attention also particularly inclines towards emptiness. Because it is non-inverted, it is said to be inseparable from the attention to the perfection of wisdom. Thirdly, in order to request the meaning of the particularly excellent increase of the nature of obtaining tolerance of non-arising phenomena, the request is made with the words, "If, Bhagavan," and so forth. The answer is, "Furthermore, Subhuti, Bodhisattva," and so forth. The phrase "striving correctly for enlightenment" means that since increase and decrease have been prevented in the perfection of wisdom, similarly, increase and decrease in the ultimate truth have been prevented for the Bodhisattva. Therefore, by meditating as if on illusion, one truly accumulates the collections of merit and wisdom in the conventional truth, and manifestly awakens to unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment. If it were not so, if there were increase and decrease, then it would be completely inverted, so it will not be so. The statement "Only this is Suchness" means, "Subhuti, if it is said in that way," and so forth. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva should know to practice the perfection of wisdom. The question with the thought, "Does this abandon some Dharma of Suchness?" is, "Bhagavan, what is the perfection of wisdom?" and so forth. The words "Bhagavan, then how?" and so forth, are in the form of preventing such a statement. The Bhagavan said, "It is not so at all." Then how should one know that he practices the perfection of wisdom? The meaning is, how should one practice in another way, as previously stated? The statement "It is said thus in the conventional truth" means, "Subhuti, and how?" and so forth. The phrase "Do you see accordingly?" means, is it in reality?
