It is said, "It is," and so on. Because it possesses sinful Dharma, it is a possessor of impure Dharma. Because it is separated from virtuous spiritual friends, it is without a teacher. Because it merely speaks of others, it does not possess the noble Dharma. The ninth, suppressing others with one's own superknowledge, the meaning of the sign of relying on a virtuous spiritual friend is: Again, it is said, "Again, Benefit," and so on. The explanation of the Prajñāpāramitā, from the appearance of the Ornament of Clear Realization, is called the chapter on the activities of demons, that is, the twenty-first. Showing the ninth sign itself is said from "Then again, the Blessed One," and so on. Among them, the six perfections are what can be shown, so-called in the stage of the result, the six perfections are the enlightenment that can be shown. Because it is the path of realization, and because it is first shown as it is, in the stage of obtaining appearance it is the path. Because it is the nature of superior appearance, in the stage of appearance increasing it is appearance. Because it is one side of suchness without grasping and clinging, in the stage of pervading one side of suchness it is a lamp. Because uninterrupted suchness wisdom arises, in the stage of uninterrupted samadhi it is light. Because all harm is averted, on the first ground it is protection. At that time, because thought and action have real meaning and abide on the ground, on the second ground it is refuge. Because it is the basis of faultless joy, on the third ground it is a place. Because it abides on the basis of going to the excellence of the noble ones, on the fourth ground it is a friend. Because it is completely cut off from the three realms, on the fifth ground it is an island. Because it is the nature of the Prajñāpāramitā, on the ninth ground it is abiding for realization. Because it is more practiced in the wisdom perfection, on the tenth ground it is abiding in order to obtain unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, this is called the difference of meaning. For the cause of non-regression, the antidote to the attachment to enjoyment and home, are the perfections of generosity and discipline in order.

O! For sentient beings in samsara, the antidote to the suffering arising from wrong actions and the weariness arising from prolonged association with virtuous actions, are the perfections of patience and diligence, as many as they are. The antidote to the cause of waste, which is non-concentration, and to the dissipation of wisdom, are, in order, the perfections of meditation and wisdom. Thus, by distinguishing between discordant aspects and antidotes, their number is fixed at six. Similarly, if the cause of concentration, one of the perfections, is accomplished, then by relying on non-concentration, one can realize the true nature of the Dharma as it is, thereby perfectly accomplishing the Buddhadharmas. Therefore, their number is fixed as the basis for the perfect accomplishment of all Buddhadharmas. Similarly, the perfection of generosity benefits sentient beings, the perfection of discipline does not harm, the perfection of patience endures harm, and the perfection of diligence undertakes activities, thereby making sentient beings suitable for taming, while the perfection of meditation calms the distracted mind. The perfection of wisdom, through calmness, makes one fully mature from the teachings, thereby attaining liberation. Therefore, one should also observe whether this distinction of numbers corresponds to the complete maturation of sentient beings. Similarly, in order to dispel the doubt of "Why is this said?", it is therefore declared, "Subhuti, the perfection of wisdom is..." etc. In order to clarify the meaning of a virtuous friend, it is declared, "Subhuti, in the past..." etc. As before, in order to dispel the doubt of "Why is this said?", it is therefore declared, "Subhuti, the perfections..." etc. The phrase "How many Buddhadharmas are there?" etc., is to be distinguished by the order of the eight realizations, such as omniscience, etc., therefore eight words such as "Buddha's wisdom" etc. are spoken. In short, it is

Therefore, it is said "in such a way" and so on. Tenth, the meaning of the sign of studying the Prajnaparamita in all ways is, it is said "Subhuti, wanting to study these powerful Paramitas" and so on. Similarly, why is that? After welcoming the necessity, it is said "This Prajnaparamita is" and so on, because it can obtain the paths of seeing, cultivation, distinction, and no-more-learning, so it guides in order, saying the four words "guiding" and so on. First is arising. Later it makes it fully grow, so it is "Mama". As before, why is that? After welcoming the doubt, it is said "If separated from the Prajnaparamita" and so on. Eleventh, the meaning of the sign of not having manifest attachment to everything is, it is requested "Bhagavan" and so on. The so-called "nature of non-attachment" is the nature of non-manifest attachment. Because it is only accepting the words, it is requested "Bhagavan, with what is the nature of non-attachment". Because the reason is the same, it is said "Subhuti, it is so" and so on. Similarly, why is that? After welcoming the doubt, it is said "Subhuti, all dharmas are" and so on. Because that is the nature separated from the nature of cause and effect, so in order it is peacefulness and emptiness, some say so. If it is emptiness, then there will be no defilement and purification, it is requested "Bhagavan, if" and so on. The so-called "that dharma is an object" is thinking "because it is emptiness". The so-called "meaning of this explanation" is because there should not be defilement and so on, so it is the meaning of explaining peacefulness and emptiness. For the meaning of answering after asking again, it is said "Subhuti, what do you think" and so on. The so-called "completely knowing defilement and purification" is saying that even if all dharmas are emptiness, but in the conventional, karma and result are related to each other, so how
