Like this and so on, only at the very beginning, one sees from afar. Then, rejoicing at the sight, one prostrates with the body. Then, as the force of intense longing increases, one serves by circumambulating and so on. Then, having done so in order, one sits down and listens, and in this way, for the purpose of seeing and so on, one attains the Prajnaparamita. This refers to "not long after," meaning that from the present moment, not long after, at the time of seeing and so on. Repeating this, it refers to serving prophecies and so on. The phrase "one Tathagata or..." refers to "not exceeding one, two, or three Tathagatas," meaning that "from then on, that Bodhisattva will later obtain prophecy," it is not like that, but rather it is the meaning of "from them." To illustrate this, it is said, "However, those Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Buddhas will be pleased," and so on. Furthermore, one Tathagata, or two, or three, will be pleased by accomplishing the correctly established precepts. The statement "Even seeing the Tathagata will have results because of the prophecy" means that seeing one or two Tathagatas and so on will not be empty because of the prophecy, because one will definitely obtain the prophecy. Repeating this, it is "seeing the Tathagata, the body also," and so on. The phrase "how long the prophecy" and so on is a brief summary and is easy to understand. To explain the meaning of the irreversible union, therefore it was said, "Then, the venerable Shariputra said to the Bhagavan," and so on. The phrase "what need is there to ask" means "here, whatever is heard, one will correctly grasp and so on, what is that? That is possessing the irreversible union and the roots of virtue are fully matured," what is there to argue about this? It means there is no doubt whatsoever. Because it has been well spoken, abiding with a harmonious mind, that is Shariputra, that is so, and so on. It was thus proclaimed. As previously stated.

English

In order to show the combination itself, the Blessed One, I dare to request metaphors, etc., this is a request. The meaning of requesting a metaphor is a similar metaphor. What can be obtained is what can be encountered. Other beings also have the possibility of holding it, so holding the Prajñāpāramitā, etc., how can it be known that this is the complete aspiration of the Bodhisattva's root of virtue? In order to eliminate this doubt, "Why cling?" is used to greet, and then the Blessed One is requested with "sentient beings," etc. Because those who are similar to lacking the Dharma and mostly have not separated from these actions, it is precisely because they turn their backs on truly holding the Prajñāpāramitā, etc., that their minds become displeased, and they strive to completely abandon it, so their minds turn back. Because those who have not accumulated roots of virtue, because they have not understood the meaning of the Prajñāpāramitā, they cannot fully enter this true boundary, and because they have not gained faith, they will not feel joy either. Therefore, those who truly hold, etc., are accumulating roots of virtue, this is the meaning of the words. The true boundary is the Dharmadhatu, and in order to show it, the Prajñāpāramitā can generate it. The combination of definite arising is, Blessed One, like this, for example, etc. Blessed One, like that, etc., like a person living in a wilderness of hundreds of thousands of yojanas, encountering practitioners who cut off the intermediate Dharma, etc., and meeting the mother of the victors for the purpose of hearing, etc., will surely arise definitely, therefore it should be known that I am approaching the unexcelled, perfectly complete, and fully enlightened state, this is the concluding remark. That itself is also spoken by the Hearers, etc. Without abiding in the Dharma that is incompatible with it, how can there be no fear of falling into the Hearers' lands, etc.? In order to eliminate this doubt, "For what reason?" is used to greet, and then "Like this, he," etc. is spoken. It means that because there is no self in the person

English

Just by thoroughly distinguishing, it can be shown that all things that do not conform to the grounds of the Hearers, etc., are empty. Therefore, in order to view the Perfection of Wisdom, etc., one obtains forbearance. Therefore, by focusing on the Mother that is not in accordance with this, there is no fear of falling into the grounds of the Hearers, etc. This is the meaning of what is said. Because of the well-spoken words, Shariputra said, "It is just so, it is just so," expressing agreement. In order to generate power again, he said, "How is it, Shariputra?" etc. The meaning of uninterrupted yoga is, "Lord, for example, there is a certain person here," etc., which is what was asked. "Trunk or the characteristic of a trunk" is a synonym for "tree or the characteristic of a tree." Because one does not see the trunk, etc., one is greeted with the question, "How can one think that it is close to the great ocean?" Then one asks, "The great ocean gradually lowers," etc. Thus, because the nature of the great ocean is contrary to trees, etc., and it gradually lowers, arising from its own cause, therefore, just by focusing on that nature, one will not be attached to trees, etc. Therefore, it is close to the great ocean. This is the meaning of what is said. When hearing the profound Perfection of Wisdom, one should understand it in this way. By accomplishing constant practice, etc., one should understand it in that way through the power of uninterrupted yoga. Greeting the question, "How can one infer the prediction of the fruit and closeness by the cause of hearing the Mother Sutra?" Then one says, "It is like this," etc. Thus, because the cause does not depend on other things, one infers that being close to the prediction by the nature of the reason that naturally infers the arising of the fruit is without fault. This is the meaning of what is said. Again, the yoga that is close to perfect enlightenment is, "Lord, for example, springtime," etc., which is what is said. "Old leaves from the wind" means old leaves fall.
