Because it is not completely abandoned, it is only with outflows. The aspect of the Omniscient One is that the afflictive and cognitive obscurations of the perfectly enlightened Buddha, along with their predispositions, are completely abandoned in every way. Because it is the Omniscient One who knows all dharmas, it is only without outflows. If the aspects are combined into one, there are one hundred and seventy-three aspects. What is said, "Other than the sixteen, there are no stainless aspects," is meant to be distinguished only by the aspects that are antidotes to the afflictive obscurations, so there is no contradiction between that and this. The ninth chapter, called the Chapter on Praise, from the Appearance of the Ornament of Realization, a commentary on the Perfection of Wisdom. The aspects must be meditated upon with special yogas, but they cannot be expressed without a yogi. Therefore, in order to show the yogi who is the vessel for hearing and so forth, the lord of the gods, Indra, and so forth, are mentioned. The former kings made special efforts because they focused on the Tathagata and built temples and so forth. Accumulating roots of virtue for many Buddhas is through offering alms and so forth. Being completely embraced by a spiritual friend is through relying especially on a spiritual friend. Only those who possess the three characteristics mentioned above are capable of being the main vessel for hearing and so forth, this mother who possesses the nature of aspects. It is also said: "Made special offerings to the Buddhas, from that accumulated roots of virtue, possessing the protector of a spiritual friend, this is the vessel for hearing." This is what was said. "Just a little" means just a little. "Having served and honored many Buddhas" means having pleased them through physical service and offerings and so forth. "Having asked" means having completely asked about one's own nature in order to ascertain the meaning of the arising doubt. "Having questioned" means having completely questioned the reasons. "Accumulating roots of virtue for many Buddhas" is for the sake of practicing the accomplishment of the ten perfections, such as generosity. Serving and honoring the Tathagata

That is, by practicing generosity and so on, one becomes a vessel for holding and so on. It should be done like this. As it is said: The Buddha's teachings and universal questions, The practice of generosity, discipline, and so on, The vessel of holding and grasping, The noble ones hold it in this way. It is said like this. This distinction of Indra is only a line of reasoning. Whoever has the cause as described, he especially believes in it. As he asked, he asked the Blessed One, the son of the lineage, and so on. The three sentences such as learning in this way should be held by the position of generosity, the main practice, and the ending, or by the difference between the path of seeing, the path of meditation, and the path of distinction. If there is no understanding of the meaning of the special, how can one hold it like non-retrogression only by holding and so on? Such doubts are greeted with "For what reason," and the Blessed One and others are asked. The reversal of the three causes of offering to the Tathagata and completely seeking as described, and practicing generosity and so on, is combined with the three sentences of those with small roots of virtue and those who do not seek completely, and those who have not practiced before. Thus, for what reason, the cause of relying on the Buddha and so on as described, with special understanding, especially believing in the Perfection of Wisdom, how can one hold non-retrogression? Thus, it is said through the gate of annihilation. Also, by abandoning the cause as described, those who will also abandon are the Blessed One, who does not believe in this and has not realized it, and so on. How can such a thought of abandonment realize that one has abandoned it before? Such doubts are greeted with "For what reason," and the Blessed One and others are asked. For what reason, now, because of the small roots of virtue, one thinks of abandoning the Buddha-mother, so it is also known that it is abandoned. Otherwise, it should not be the nature of small roots of virtue. It is the concluding word. He asked that the previous limit had not been practiced, and so on. Shariputra said that it was said that it was only a line of reasoning.
