Thus the son spoke of "without an object" and so forth. This is the nature of the law of dependent origination. Why? Because without an object, karma and mind do not arise, this is the nature of the law, therefore it only arises with an object. To clarify these very things, the venerable Shariputra thus spoke of "without an object" and so forth. Therein, in the manner of "that and not that by nature, that that not that born from cause," some minds focus on completely afflicted things, therefore they grasp completely afflicted things; some minds focus on purification, therefore they grasp purification. Some say that what is called "mind" is "consciousness." Others say, "Mind is the action of the mind," therefore it is said to be a synonym for action. To summarize, Shariputra spoke of "therefore" and so forth. The past and the future, because of their non-existence, are not reasonable as the nature of an object. However, even the things that arise in the present cannot be grasped by consciousness with form, etc., therefore everything is emptiness, so how can a mind with an object arise? Thus spoke the venerable Subhuti, "When?" and so forth. "Seclusion" means that because it is separated from the object of focus, it is emptiness. In conventional truth, it arises by focusing on unreal conceptualization, as said by the venerable Shariputra, "taking the sign as an object" and so forth. The signs belonging to form, etc., are unique, so they alone are without signs, but as seen, it means taking the sign as an object and superimposing it. The word "also in between" summarizes name and form, etc., due to the condition of consciousness. "Relying on worldly terminology" means relying on conventional power. "Speaking after the person" is the remaining part. It is shown that there is a relationship between karma and result even in dreams, but it is also in terms of a person with an object.

The welcoming passage is: The venerable Subhuti, whenever one speaks of "Bodhisattva" and so on. If one still doubts the meaning that has already been answered, because it is limitless, who can answer with a mind that abides in peace? With this thought, the venerable Shariputra said "Bodhisattva Mahasattva Maitreya" and so on. The so-called "this meaning" refers to whether one should say that what is given in a dream is completely dedicated. This is the question that is raised. The so-called "manifestation in the body" refers to the fact that because one has entered the ranks of Arhats, the cessation of the non-returner fruit is directly realized. Similarly, the noble Maitreya is called the manifestation in the body because he has entered the ranks of becoming a Buddha. Subhuti called out to the noble Maitreya with his own words and said, starting from "Then, the venerable Shariputra" and so on. Regarding the meaning that has already been taught according to the differences of those to be tamed, even if doubts arise repeatedly, even if answers are given repeatedly, it only benefits those who have the karma, therefore it is impossible for everyone to abandon perversions at the time when one Buddha appears. When answering this question, it has already been hinted that because other Buddhas will appear in the future, this question is not complete. If this question is complete, then there is no need, and the appearance of future Buddhas will also become meaningless. With this thought, wanting to answer, he said: "The venerable Subhuti, whenever one says this" and so on. To distinguish from the standpoint of existence is when the venerable Subhuti said "the name Maitreya" and so on. To this, temporarily not answering emptiness is "That is, the emptiness of form" and so on. The so-called "cannot answer" is because it does not exist, so there is no ability. The so-called "form and so on also cannot" is when the venerable Subhuti said "what dharma" and so on, because the agent, action, and deed are all unobtainable.

The so-called "by what dharma to answer, by what dharma should one answer, and by what dharma should one answer" is what is being spoken about. The so-called "what dharma is prophesied" refers to speaking with oneself as the object. The statement that "all dharmas being objects is unreasonable" refers to things like "Maitreya, endowed with life, how are these dharmas?" It is said thus: If, as these dharmas state, these dharmas of your form, etc., are thus manifest, then at that time, with the nature of the answerer, the meaning of discrimination is close to the object, how can all dharmas become non-objects? This is what is being said. The statement that "thus there is no realization" refers to things like "Shariputra, endowed with life, how are these shown by words?" One should combine "application" and other situations with "not knowing," etc. So how is it? It is "however," etc. It is said thus: Because all dharmas are like illusions, being without inherent existence, at the time of realization, discrimination has no object, how can the body be untouchable, words unspeakable, and the mind unthinkable? Being of such a nature, all dharmas are of the nature of non-object, made manifest by non-discriminating wisdom, because if discrimination follows, then there is inversion, and thus there is no realization. Therefore, after realization, one speaks conventionally in the mundane world. The statement that the realization of non-discriminating wisdom is not the realm of the Shravakas is "Ema Bodhisattva," etc. The Blessed One said that the Shravakas also have such realization, which is "Shariputra, why do you," etc., because the realization is the same in the extent of non-discriminating wisdom, so one should not generate the mind that "this is profound wisdom," this is the concluding word. What is said to show sameness is "Shariputra, with what dharma do you possess," etc. Arhats realize with non-discriminating knowledge.
