Thinking in this way, there will be no virtuous or non-virtuous actions. The statement "In ultimate truth, there is no 'etc.' or 'near to etc.'" refers to "How did the Bhagavan..." etc. In conventional truth, it is because one desires the connection between actions and their results. If one says, "The mind in a dream is disturbed by sleep, therefore dreams and results cannot be established," it becomes an unestablished example. One should say, "The venerable Shariputra, that is, that person," etc. "That action" refers to what occurs in the state of dreaming. To clarify this, it is said, "Shariputra, how..." etc. There, is it completed through combination etc.? Or, having completely destroyed through body, speech, and mind, saying, "Alala is killed! Well killed! Very well killed!" etc., and focusing entirely on the actions done by oneself, saying "I killed" with a distinction of meaning. Like this, if according to the tenet that asserts the existence of external objects, it is destroyed without cause in an instant, and also from the ultimate conclusion of the tenet, it is said, "From actions, various worlds arise." Therefore, in ultimate truth, no one kills anyone, and no one takes anyone's property, etc. If one admits this, because of generating things that contradict the continuum, and being more attached to killing etc., for those who possess improper attention etc., just like non-virtue etc., the establishment of killing etc. is the same. Similarly, the virtue and non-virtue accumulated in a dream, in the state of being awake, through the conceptual thoughts of "Alala is killed!" etc., the manifest attachment of the state of combination etc. increases, and when it becomes fully increased, for the tenet that asserts the existence of external objects, it is also like the state of dreaming, therefore this example is not established. Therefore, according to the view of the Madhyamaka school, even in the state of not being asleep, for those who have not abandoned all the inverted bonds by being attached to the existence of things similar to dreams, to the reality of things similar to them, etc., virtue etc. are established. However, sleep itself is a stronger cause of mental confusion, therefore it is unclear and scattered.

Because intermediate realization is inferior to dreams. When sleep has not disappeared, because it is free from the causes of confusion such as sleep, it appears scattered like an uncultivated field, therefore the fruit is residual. Because it is believed that there are actions and results even in the state of dreams, etc., it is not said that non-bhikkhunis, etc., have faults, just like giving precepts, vows and non-vows are established separately by the power of the precepts established by the Blessed One. If actions are nourished by the power of discrimination, then even if the opponent's side is awakened, because it follows discrimination, it will also affect the Tathagata, which is said: Venerable Subhuti, if, etc. Discrimination is to generate the perception of exhaustion, that is, to generate the perception that my aggregates of samsara are exhausted, etc. That action refers to the activity of attention that eliminates afflictions. Because one's own nature is close to accumulation, etc., and because it has the ability to produce fruit, it will be close, etc. Moreover, from that action, action is close, etc., there is a difference in fruit, so the Tathagata will become incomplete, this is thinking. For the benefit of the beings to be tamed, the Tathagata established the discrimination that my birth is exhausted, etc., but it is not true. It is said: It is not like that. In order to make this the meaning of the treatise, why is that? After welcoming the question, it is said that the Tathagata is free from all discrimination and non-discrimination, etc. Discrimination is the nature of self-characteristics and general characteristics such as form, without discrimination. It becomes the object of discrimination and non-discrimination, and the discrimination of those is to rely on it. Being away from that is a synonym for abandonment because one has realized the nature of non-discrimination. If there is no close object, why don't the mental actions and consciousness of others enter? Venerable Shariputra
