I (the author) will now speak of the Sangha of irreversible Bodhisattvas, which also includes the path of seeing and others that may arise. That is, those who abide in the path corresponding to the part of definite determination, as well as those who abide in the path of seeing gathered by patience and wisdom, and also those who abide in the path of cultivation with cause, thus there are three stages. As it is said: From the limb of definite determination onwards, on the paths of seeing and cultivation, whichever Bodhisattvas abide, they are here the assembly of the irreversible. It is said. Among them, the twenty aspects of turning away from form and so on, and having no doubt, etc., should be known as the characteristics of irreversibility for those who abide in accordance with the part of definite determination. As it is said: Turning away from form and so on is examined, by stating twenty aspects, this is the characteristic of irreversibility for those abiding in the limb of definite determination. It is said. Because it is the nature of Suchness, for a while, showing the turning away from form and so on is the request of the Blessed One, "Irreversible Bodhisattva Mahasattva," and so on. Among them, aspects are those gathered by the side of the antidote. Signs are those characteristics that abide in themselves. Marks are those that belong to what is needed for the enjoyment of that sign. Or, aspects are the differences of bodily joy, such as hair standing on end and tears falling. Signs are the differences of speech, such as praying with joy. Marks are the differences of practice, such as listening, holding, reciting, and offering. Or, these words are explanations of the previous ones. Blessed One, how should I know that I am an irreversible Bodhisattva Mahasattva? With this, the signs of unmistakable understanding were asked. The answer is, Subhuti, what is the position of each ordinary person, and so on. The so-called position of Suchness is because all positions are like illusions, so it is said, "All these are," and so on, non-discrimination is non-discrimination, this is reason and scripture.

It should be determined, because it is impossible to do other things, so connect in order. "From that" refers to the mandala of the wheel. "This is like that" means that by returning from form, etc., this is like that. It is true as it is, and the others are ignorance. When thinking and listening, one should believe and understand, because it does not show attachment to things, so it will not speak meaningless words. Because it shows the illusory things very well, it speaks meaningful words, not meaningless ones. When diligently practicing the nature of Dharma, one will not look at the actions and inactions of others. "Should be accepted" means: from the collection of causes, the result arises, whatever the inference is, because it does not depend on other meanings, it is said to be self-nature. Through this teaching itself, it should be determinedly accepted through inference. Showing that doubt is eliminated by gaining faith through knowledge is what the Blessed One said, "Subhuti, furthermore," etc. "Not looking at the face" means that by fully knowing the suchness that should be known, etc., one is satisfied with the thought of existence, so one does not look at the face. "Not relying on other gods" means not taking the nature of refuge, etc., as one's own. "The fulfillment of wishes, thereby eliminating the eight unfree states" is what the Blessed One said, "Subhuti, furthermore," etc. "Not being born in the lower realms" means not being born in hell, hungry ghosts, and animals, which is directly stated. This is an approximate example, so it includes not being born in wrong views, not hearing the Dharma, and not being born in remote areas. "Also not completely accepting the things of women" means that because it is said to prohibit the things of women, one will not become a thing of incomplete faculties, foolish, and dumb, which should be understood through meaning. The word "also" means that one will not be born in long-lived gods, etc. The meaning of combining oneself and others with virtuous Dharma by having compassion is what the Blessed One said, "Subhuti, furthermore," etc. Among them, killing means causing the life of others to end.
