That which is called "Thusness" is that Thusness which accords with the Thusness of its own nature, therefore that Thusness becomes associated with all dharmas. If it is the very nature of Thusness, how is it called "following"? Here, it is said, "something," etc., which is nominally established as such in conventional truth, but in ultimate truth, its nature is like an illusion, so there is no object that can follow it and be equal to it. The Thusness of all dharmas is threefold (past, present, and future), but the Thusness of the Tathagata, because of its naturally luminous nature, is free from birth and death, and if it is not like that, how can it be said that these are the same? As it is said in the sutra, "The Thusness of the Tathagata is also not past," etc., that is to say, for the Tathagata, there is no destruction preceded by birth, so it is not past; it is free from future arising, so it is not future; since it is impossible to obtain what already exists, it is not present. Thus, regarding "the Thusness of all dharmas is also like this," the intention is to explain that the valid means that strongly proves it to be like an illusion is the same in all cases. Or, even if it is allowed that in conventional truth, the three times are nominally established by the distinction of the differences of things, nevertheless, the nature of the Tathagata and the Thusness of all dharmas, which is without difference, is also as it is said in the sutra, "The Thusness of the Tathagata also..." etc. Not only is it the Thusness of one's own nature, but what is it like? Subhuti, the Tathagata also follows it with Thusness, that is, the Thusness of the Tathagata follows the Thusness of the past, etc., and the Thusness of the past, etc., also follows the Thusness of the Tathagata, because there is no difference in liberation. It should be known that the differences of the past, etc., individually and collectively, can form four kinds of explanations. In summary, thus the Thusness of the steadfast Subhuti and

Thus and so forth was spoken. Bodhisattvas and the stages of Tathagatas, as such, are temporarily distinct entities, therefore, how can it be said that suchness and all dharmas are non-distinct entities? Some people think like this. The Blessed One becoming a Bodhisattva and so on is said as such, so-called suchness is this, because it is always of the same nature, it is reasonable that suchness is this, because it is manifestly enlightened by being free from sudden defilements. Those that are not of the nature of one and many, those are not existent in the ultimate nature, such as the nature of illusion and so on. The things spoken by oneself and others are also not of the nature of one and many, because it is said that the pervasive is not found, so it is the same as the illusion of the Tathagata. This reason is not unestablished either, because the actions of those who have discrimination are pervasive with needs, therefore, the object of things that can act in the ultimate sense should be examined in detail, otherwise, people who seek meaningful actions have no need to examine meaningless things, therefore, things that do meaningful things should be acknowledged. That is also the nature of mutual determination, therefore, it should be observed whether it will become the nature of the knowable or the nature of the knower. In this regard, if it is like the first case, then the atoms will become the nature of mutual adhesion, or, held by the power of many similar ones, surrounded in a non-adhesive manner with intervals, or, surrounded without intervals, these three cases. In this regard, if it is like the first case, if one and another adhere together in one direction, then it will become part of it, therefore, it will be lost from oneness, because the nature of the atom is adhered to by others and others. If it is like the case of adhering with all self, when the eastern atom mixes with other atoms with all self,
