It is greeted with "Why don't you have the doubt of wanting to benefit those people?" Subhuti, it is said, "From those sutras" and so on. The twentieth. This is a temporary explanation of the obstacles to entering this (Dharma). Now, we must speak of the very first stage of entry, which is being separated from the assembly. Therefore, in order to be separated from desire and laziness, it is said, "Subhuti, moreover, those who listen to the Dharma" and so on. The so-called "having desire" means having a superior desire to manifest. The so-called "will become lazy" means having laziness, which means being separated from diligence. In order to be separated from the different objects of desire, it is said, "Subhuti, moreover, those who listen to the Dharma" and so on. Among them, the so-called "having understanding" means having a special understanding of the meaning. The so-called "having wisdom" means only understanding that meaning. The so-called "having mindfulness" means having a focused mind. The so-called "will go elsewhere" indicates that the object of desire of the listener is different from the object of desire of the speaker. The so-called "understanding by mentioning the beginning" means that when saying "form" etc., it is because the aggregates of form etc. are not fully understood. The so-called "not understanding in a differentiated way" means that when saying "form is the characteristic of being able to change" etc., it is because the meaning is not understood. The so-called "because of not understanding" means that when saying "form has twenty aspects," it is because the meaning is not understood. Subhuti, it is said, "Moreover, the Dharma speaker" etc., because the Dharma speaker and the listener want to give alms and want to go elsewhere, therefore the objects of desire are different. In order to be separated from greed for gain and contentment with little desire, it is said, "Subhuti, moreover, the Dharma speaker is greedy for wealth" and so on. This very explanation is speaking of those who have and do not have the qualities of practice. In this way, in order, merely being greedy for gain etc. indicates not having the qualities of practice, and merely having great desire and small desire etc. indicates having the qualities of practice.

For the sake of the nature of non-virtuous dharmas, the Blessed One spoke of "Subhuti, furthermore," and so on. Among these, due to possessing virtuous dharmas, it is faith. Conversely, it is disbelief. Through this explanation, stinginess and miserliness are spoken of, that is, wanting to completely give away wealth, this is the listener's giving, and if one does not want to speak, then it explains the speaker's miserliness. Here, giving and not accepting are also explained, that is, as before, the listener's giving and the speaker's small desire, thereby showing non-acceptance. In order to understand the meaning through mentioning the beginning and elaborating, the Blessed One spoke of "Subhuti, furthermore, listening to the Dharma is," and so on. Wanting to understand its meaning, this is because mentioning the beginning allows understanding, so it is wanting to realize its meaning. What is called becoming an obstacle to the Dharma refers to engaging in abandoning the true Dharma. Those Sutras do not exist in the form of books and so on. What is called not entering, this is because elaboration allows understanding, so it is not entering the path of understanding it. What is called not finding a speaker of the Dharma refers to not encountering a speaker of the Dharma. What is called about to speak discordant words refers to the discordant words of "I should not listen." For the sake of knowing and not knowing the meaning of Sutras and other Dharmas, the Blessed One spoke of "Subhuti, furthermore," and so on. What is called wanting to explain refers to wanting to speak because of knowing Sutras and other Dharmas. What is called not wanting to listen refers to being separated from wanting to become a Hearer because of not knowing those Sutras and other Dharmas. What is called possessing and not possessing the six perfections, the work of Mara is explained through this explanation, that is, what is called wanting to speak, this indicates possessing the six perfections with the intention of benefiting sentient beings. What is called not wanting to listen, this indicates relying on discord, showing separation from giving and so on, this is the third set of ten dharmas. Skillful in means and not skillful in means, as well as those who have obtained dharani and those who have not obtained dharani, and wanting to copy letters.
