In short, the so-called "such dedication" is like an illusion. And "it" refers to the mind of dedication, if not examined on the conventional level, then because it relies on the previous cause, the root of virtue naturally arises, so it is of the same kind. With the characteristics of self-nature and common nature, in order, for the things to be done, with ability and inability, it is its characteristic and belongs to its kind. Because it is the nature of the Dharmadhatu, it is its nature. If you understand it in this way, the so-called "mark" is the remaining part. Since actions are all led by wisdom, since this is the case, why would you doubt that it is not a complete dedication? Greet with "Why?". The Buddhas, Bhagavan, etc. are in the manner of marks, etc. If there is nothing to be negated, then negation is unreasonable, so clinging to emptiness, etc. as reality is inverted, understand it this way. Other forms are also said, that is the so-called "whatever has passed". The so-called "not obtained" refers to not comprehending at this very moment. The so-called "not abiding" is because it is separated from self-nature, so it should not abide. The so-called "also not a mark" is because the cause of acting together is not a mark, and only the proximate cause is not an object. If you cling to the mark in this way, it is because you are taking it as an object in the way that has been said. The so-called "not thinking" is because you are clinging to negation in that way, and you have not fully understood the reality of things. Therefore, because it is inverted, it is a complete dedication. If not paying attention to the mark is a complete dedication, then will trees, etc. also become like that? In order to welcome this question, it is said, "Because it is separated from mindfulness." Because there is no mindfulness, things like trees do not pay attention to emptiness, etc., even so, because they have not fully understood the reality of things, they are not thinking. Similarly, because they are separated from mindfulness or have already understood, they do not pay attention to anything like Devadatta, even so, they are not thinking like before, because...

Therefore, like this, because it is inverted, it is not a complete dedication, this is the meaning of the words. If clinging to signs and not clinging to signs is not a complete dedication, then what should be done at that time? Therefore, it is said "that sign" and so on. Just like this, just like closing the eyes or being blind, etc., because the causes and conditions are not complete, merely not paying attention will not abandon the inverted habits of things, etc. Just like waking up from the unconscious absorption, etc., the yogi will again generate a collection of afflictions such as greed, etc., which are rooted in clinging to things. Without abandoning the inversion, one cannot abandon the previous objects of perception such as form, etc., because of the attention generated by experiencing form, etc., very clearly. Just as one cannot completely abandon heat without completely abandoning fire. Like this, these inverted perceptions of form, etc., are not to be removed from the mind like pulling out thorns, etc., but because the real existence, etc., of things, etc., is separated from the seeds of inversion. Therefore, before it is inverted, not abandoning it, just like the fault of a person's eye disease, who can prevent the strong arising of clinging to false forms, etc.? If the seeds of inversion are examined with the eye of wisdom of the yogi, because all phenomena are seen to appear with the light of correct wisdom, they will not arise. After that, just like a tree uprooted from its roots, because there are no seeds, evil thoughts will not arise in the mind, and then Suchness will appear. Even so, it is about signs, thinking that the collection of virtues of the Tathagata and the intention of complete dedication are like illusions, and not clinging to merely its own nature, so it is said to be clinging to signs. In order to teach the skillful means of the vast dedication of attention, therefore, Bodhisattva Mahasattva, etc., are mentioned. Skillful means refers to not focusing on even following generosity, etc.
