Such as "earth," and "not abiding in mindfulness," and "not abiding in the fruit of stream-entry," etc., are to show the distinctions of the five aggregates of that which is with outflows, both, and without outflows, respectively, which is the meaning of mixture. The characteristics of the self-nature of the elements, etc., are extremely famous, therefore they are not written. In this "up to the consciousness of mind," the saying of "up to" is to compare with the consciousness of ear, etc. Even not abiding in the Buddha himself, that is, not abiding in the unsurpassed, perfectly complete Buddha himself. If one does not abide in form, etc., which are the nature of the support, then, in that case, all words would become the result of reversal, therefore, one does not abide in form, etc. In order to refute the thought that one can attain abiding by its own nature, it is said, "Thus, form," etc., does not abide. Among them, the word "thus" means "therefore." The word "na" is as before. The meaning of the language is: Because when one meditates without an object of reason, form, etc., do not exist, therefore, it is unreasonable to meditate as a support, and therefore, it is unreasonable to accept its own nature and others as entities separate from its own nature. Desiring to dispel the reversal of the beings to be tamed, in what way is the nature of the support shown, therefore, one should not accept it as the result of reversal. Therefore, in order to include the peak, one should meditate without focusing on all forms, etc. It is also said: "Because they are not focused on, they are desired to be the peak." This is what is said in the sutra. In this "feeling born from the contact of the union of mind," the word "up to" includes eye consciousness, etc. In this "realm of consciousness," the saying of "up to" is to completely include the water realm, etc. In order to show forbearance, form is permanent and impermanent, etc.

It is said, "Do not abide," and so on. The words such as impermanence have already been explained. Conversely, words such as permanence should be spoken. By distinguishing between discordant and concordant aspects, the characteristics of the truth of suffering are closely grasped, because this is the main point, and therefore, it is for the sake of reversing all appearances of attachment. Regarding form being beautiful and not beautiful, beautiful is praised, and not beautiful is not praised. These also strive to closely represent the aspects of the remaining truths. If it is devoid of all aspects, then it would become merely emptiness of essence. To dispel this doubt, it is said, "By focusing on form as emptiness," and so on. Because the non-empty entity is negated, it is called emptiness. Therefore, since things do not exist in the manner described, it is thought that refuting what is without an object is unreasonable. It is said, in order to realize forbearance, one should not abide in all circumstances by focusing on form and so on with aspects such as permanence and impermanence, and one should meditate in this way. It is also said: "By negating abiding with aspects such as permanence, are the forbearances." This is what was said. To show the excellence of the Dharma, the fruit of stream-entry and so on are mentioned. That which is distinguished by the unconditioned is the fruit, because its nature is unborn, the path is the fruit that arises from the unconditioned. Thus, after generally showing the meaning of negating manifest clinging, to show the distinction, it is said that the stream-enterer is a place of giving, and so on. Because it is a special field of merit, it is the place where one should mainly give, therefore it is a place of giving. If one clings greatly, one will be a "seven-times-existent," because the remainder still exists, so even if one clings greatly, one will only revolve in samsara seven times. Regarding "because it is not completely exhausted," and so on, because the task is not completely accomplished, the human world...

Having come and gone once here, thereby ending suffering, i.e., afflictions such as desire, and completely destroying them. "There" refers to the place of the intermediate state. "Here" refers to the very place where the Arhat is born. As for "the realm of Nirvana where the aggregates are not completely exhausted," an aggregate refers to the body. Because of abandoning all desires, etc., the remaining remainder, that remainder does not exist in Nirvana, hence it is called that. The place where all conceptualizations cease is Nirvana, which is Suchness. That is the realm, and the object aimed at it is the cause of generating the noble ones, therefore, "realm there" should be added. "Stream-enterer," etc., since the four dwelling in the fruit are mentioned, in order to avoid the situation where there is no cause, the four stages of entering should also be understood. Therefore, the Hearer will become eightfold. The way in which someone abandons how many aspects of afflictions to establish stream-entry, etc., since it has been said before, it is not stated again. Explaining the general words "Solitary Realizer," etc., "Solitary Realizer," etc. are spoken, because it is the cause of oneself alone, realizing one's own enlightenment is oneself, therefore it is a Solitary Realizer. The Hearer will not become like that either, because he relies on the instructions of others. Nor will it become Perfectly Complete Buddha, because he is particularly superior because he specifically makes the all-knowingness of all aspects for the benefit of all sentient beings. This explains that the ninth ground is spoken by the Solitary Realizer. "The Hearer has transcended karma" means that he has abandoned the conceptualization of the object to be taken, thereby transcending it. "The Buddha has not attained" means that he has not abandoned the conceptualization of the object to be grasped, therefore it has not been realized by the Unsurpassed Perfectly Complete Buddha. Similarly, in order to distinguish the sentence "The Buddha is the place of giving, one should not abide," the Buddha is, etc.
