English

The three words, such as "learning to subdue," should be understood as occasions for combining them in order, etc. Furthermore, in this way, it becomes nine types due to the distinction of objects, namely, discriminating as the self of independence, discriminating as the self of solitude, discriminating as the self of cause, discriminating as the self of the seer, etc., discriminating as the self of the basis of all afflictions, discriminating as the self of the basis of detachment, discriminating as the self of the basis of the path of seeing, discriminating as the self of the basis of the path of meditation, and discriminating as the self of the basis of having accomplished the meaning. The two discriminations of grasping are those that have a basis in the imputation of a person. Regarding that discrimination, what is said from the perspective of abandoning bad disputes is "What is the Bhagavan?" etc. If one clings to the notion that the person who is merely imputed is the grasper, since it is a distorted appearance, the person of the nature of illusion is the person of illusion, that is, merely imputed. If that also becomes an object of learning, that is also not possible, because it is without mind. If even what is not fully known is learned, then everything will become an object of learning, and thus liberation will be achieved effortlessly. With such a thought, if someone asks, "Who says this?" etc., how should one answer such a question? This is the concluding remark. Form, etc., are equal in the nature of distorted appearance. Therefore, since there is no other basis, it is similar to an illusory person, so it is not something to be learned, and liberation is not achieved effortlessly. Thinking this, the Bhagavan taught, "Therefore, Subhuti," etc. Because you ask in this way, you are asked in return here. As for "Bhagavan, very good," etc., from the beginning of promising "Bhagavan, very good" to "Thus, what was heard by the Bhagavan," etc., is what was heard. So what was heard? The Bhagavan said "Bhagavan," etc. The answer is the statement "Bhagavan, illusion for others," etc.

Bhagavan, these are not other, because illusion is for the other, form etc. are not for the other. Form etc. are illusion. Illusion is form, saying that this is the only one, because it is separated from the nature of one and many, so these are without substance, and are the same in the nature of false appearance, this is what is thought. Illusion and form etc. are shown to be the same, in order to show that one should learn because they are like an illusion person. Subhuti, what do you think, etc. is said. Here, the noble Vimuktisena, for the five aggregates of grasping and illusion are the same, called Bodhisattva, is understanding and clinging to the characteristics. Called master, is knowing with substance, is all-knowing. For knowing and what is to be known, the appearance of clinging in the form of grasper and grasped, is vijnana. Being possessed by others and vijnana, various names related to other entities, are names, so it is said. The venerable Vimuktisena said that in the stage of lineage, the name Bodhisattva is just a name, just a name. At the time of generating the mind, because of knowing, it is all-knowing. Equal knowing is, for the name called Bodhisattva, where there is a reason for the entry of the mind of equal knowing, that is equal knowing, all sentient beings are the cause of equal knowing. In the seven bhumis of the path of application, all dharmas belong only to imputation, so it is vijnana. In the eighth bhumi etc., because of obtaining the path of no-characteristic spontaneously accomplished, it is only expressed in name, so it is called name, so it is explained. Bodhisattva is separate from form etc., in order to have to commit to being unreasonable, so he prayed saying thus thus etc. Wisdom is spoken twice. Bhagavan, Bodhisattva Mahasattva etc. are close. Because if it is so, the reason is because there is no other basis, just as it arises from the illusion of the karma of samsara, so also the supramundane dharmas are the illusion of wisdom.

Since it arises from a mother, one should train in the unsurpassed, perfectly complete, and correct enlightenment like an illusionary being with actions free from manifest attachment, which is reasonable. Liberation is also not achieved without effort, because knowing suchness itself is what causes liberation to be attained, and not knowing it does not, this is his intention. If it is merely an illusionary being, then how would it change in the state of complete affliction and complete purification? If one doubts this, then welcoming it with "For what reason?", the Bhagavan spoke of "For example, like this" and so on. Regarding "The five aggregates of grasping themselves" and so on, the five aggregates of grasping refer to the contaminated form and so on. In order to completely include the five uncontaminated aggregates, it is said that "the five aggregates themselves also," which is brought out from within. One should contemplate how the state of complete affliction and complete purification itself is also seen as being like an illusionary being. Again, if one doubts "How could it merely be an illusionary being?", then welcoming it with "For what reason?", he spoke of "Like this" and so on. Even if the meaning has already been spoken, if doubt is raised in another way, since it is not repetition, it is not considered to have the fault of repetitive explanation, and in all cases, it should be understood in this way. The Bhagavan said, "Form is like an illusion," because it was said, "Regarding these five aggregates of grasping, it is understood as a Bodhisattva," and so on, so immediately the Bhagavan said that form and so on are like an illusion. The six faculties are the eye and so on. Saying "ear consciousness together with the object" is an ellipsis, and in this way, it would be reasonable to say the five aggregates immediately. Whatever consciousness is, that is the six faculties, because consciousness itself appears in such a form. The six faculties should also be understood as before. Grasping conceptualization is showing the support of a person who can be examined. That also becomes ninefold due to the difference in objects, for example, the conceptualization of the imputation of aggregates and the imputation of locations.
