Pride is arrogance. If there is no antidote, one will not be free from faults, isn't that so? Why would such qualities arise in it? To such doubts, one responds with "Why?" and speaks of "Like this," etc. The Perfection of Wisdom itself is the antidote to all faults. And it is also considered that it is cultivated through it. "Completely subduing" means giving great importance to abandoning killing, etc. "Completely yielding" means making the realm of beings completely yielding with appropriate words, etc. "Bearing a grudge" means not abandoning the habit of regarding enemies as enemies; a part of hatred itself is bearing a grudge. "Harmful intent" means being disgusted with beings and with suffering and the dharmas that are the place of suffering; this is harmful intent. "Habit" means the continuum of mind that regards enemies as enemies, a part of hatred is the habit. It is said that, due to the power of being completely grasped by the Perfection of Wisdom, it is manifest that one desires to attain enlightenment, therefore, one's own abandoning of killing, etc., goes before, abiding in omniscience. And, others should be placed in that; in this way, if one focuses on all dharmas, the acceptance that follows the path will arise. This is to show the aspect of the fourth moment of the path. "Son of good family or daughter of good family," etc., is said; "acting thus" means abiding in following the path. "Mindfulness" means that the mind does not forget familiar objects. "Loving-kindness" is the absence of hatred; like a single child, all beings are held very dear. Because of these, one should dedicate all roots of virtue, such as generosity, in a non-attached manner, in common with all beings, to unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment; therefore, both are mentioned. The very act of loving-kindness, thinking "like this," etc., is said; "the faculties are confused" means that due to constantly practicing harmful intent, the aspects of the eyes, etc.

This is because it produces change. The so-called "countenance also changes" means that one's own nature changes and becomes haggard. The so-called "going under the power of anger" refers to its transgression. Thus, by making generosity and so on inexhaustible, dedicating to perfect enlightenment with the power of mindfulness and so on, if one focuses on all dharmas in this way, then wisdom that follows the path will arise, this is what is said. Thus, the aspects that are spoken of, which are shown by other words, will produce sixteen moments, do not doubt this. It is also said: Suchness and the Buddhas, Mutually dependent, without dependence, Not admitting names, Great, with measure and immeasurable, Immeasurable and boundless, In that place, dwelling in form, etc., Determining as Buddhahood, Without taking, without abandoning, etc., Love, etc., and emptiness, Obtaining Buddhahood, Pure, complete, and all-encompassing, Eliminating fear and all diseases, Nirvana, clinging to peacefulness, Protected by the Buddhas, etc., Not killing, etc., In the manner of all-knowing, Dwelling in self-nature, all sentient beings, Establishing and giving, etc., Dedicating to perfect enlightenment, The moment of path-wisdom. This is what is said. That which is in accordance with the decisive part of the path of seeing should be taken from the explanation of all-aspect knowledge. If that is the case, then the grounds such as the Joyful One are also mentioned there, and since the paths of seeing and so on of the Bodhisattvas have been shown, why should they be shown again? It should be said that, considering the complete understanding of cause and effect, it is said to be the all-aspect knowledge of the Tathagatas, in order to dispel the doubt that the path of the sons of the Conqueror is not taught from there. From that, only a small cause is cited, and the path-wisdom, which has the nature of the path of seeing and so on of the Bodhisattvas, is established separately. Following the words, whether it is in accordance with the category of treatises or not, the wise should act accordingly.
