If it is said to be like a mother, does it not speak of other dharmas such as the Rupakaya? However, this is merely saying, because two negations are to show the real meaning. Because if one focuses only on the Bhagavan of suchness as previously stated, then all qualities will be perfectly complete, otherwise, because of the nature contrary to valid cognition, it is considered to be inverted. Because attachment to things is very strong, it is said again that the true path of Dharma has been realized, such as the noble Subhuti "has also passed into Nirvana" and so on. Otherwise, like the heretics, because there is one-sided emptiness, therefore admitting things, therefore liberation is unreasonable, with this thought in mind, he replied: "Sons of gods, I" and so on. If it says "if", this is an admission. The word "that" is a conjunction of sentences. Thus it is declared: Although there is no Dharma more excellent than Nirvana, even so, it is admitted and said: If there is another Dharma more excellent than Nirvana, then that Dharma is also like illusion and so on. To this, the venerable Nagarjuna said: If one admits things, then unpleasant afflictions such as attachment and aversion will arise, and evil views will be held, and disputes will arise from this, which is the root of all views. Without it, afflictions will not arise, so by fully understanding it, one can abandon views and afflictions. Who can understand it? It is seeing dependent origination, realizing that dependent origination is unborn, this is what the perfectly enlightened one said. The ending of such and so on, because the meaning is understood, so it is not written. After showing what came along the way, now in order to show that the path of the Pratyekabuddha is more excellent also through the way of dependent origination, so the question is asked: "The venerable Subhuti" and so on, that is to say, gradually cutting off and not cutting off the dualistic thoughts of the grasper and the grasped, in this way, the wisdom of the nature of the Pratyekabuddha path.

So, for these perfections of wisdom taught in this way, what kind of person, who would truly accept them, through the blessing of the Thus-Gone One (Sanskrit: Tathāgata) and the wisdom of meaning? The venerable Ānanda, in order to explain, said: 'O fortunate ones,' and so on. 'Non-retrogression' means not retrogressing from one's own enlightenment because of realizing the definitive aspect. He himself desires to manifest his own enlightenment, therefore he is a Bodhisattva. Because he teaches the Dharma with his body, and has the intention to benefit sentient beings in a Buddha-field where Buddhas do not appear, therefore he is a Mahāsattva (Sanskrit: Mahāsattva, great warrior). 'Perfect view' means having the view of wisdom that is intermediate and correct. 'Arhat (Sanskrit: Arhat), the one with exhausted outflows' means that just by abandoning the obscurations of one's own path of seeing, he is worthy of offerings. These three words speak of the person of the lineage who has truly accomplished enlightenment in sequence, the lineage obtained by the nature of Dharma, and the lineage with certainty in that. The sound 'sam' should be understood as everything being mutually dependent. Furthermore, the venerable Subhūti, in order to teach in other ways, spoke of 'O fortunate ones,' and so on. If self-enlightened Buddhas each realize enlightenment, even if their own path is the forerunner, how is it that no grasping arises? To that doubt, welcoming it with 'Why cling to this?', he said: 'To this,' and so on. 'To this' means at the time of realizing the path of the self-enlightened Buddha. Because there is no need for others to point it out, it refers to the self-enlightened Buddha who realizes his own ground. By speaking concisely, through the way of teaching vast meaning, no meaning is spoken. By speaking extensively, through the way of clarifying concise meaning, it is not fully manifested. Through the way of teaching the nature of how it abides, it is not fully established. In order to draw near to the conclusion, therefore he said 'Therefore,' and so on. Therefore, just because the meaningless cause and so on are not spoken, just because of that cause, no one will truly accept it, because the object to be taught itself does not exist.
