Through the power of the wisdom obtained, etc., without verbal expression, the Dharma teacher causes others to engage in the ten virtues, etc. Therefore, those wisdoms are profound because they cannot be understood by others, which is the second excellence. Having done so, in order to show the nature of wisdom here, the characteristics of the fruit of the nature of words, etc., are also mentioned here slightly. Otherwise, in order to fully accomplish things that are contrary to nature, there is no explanation. Because of that reason, it is well said that "it cannot be known." Self-enlightened Buddhas, etc., for the sake of their own enlightenment, the teachings of others are meaningless. In response to such a discernment of nature, the venerable Subhuti abandons it, or so we think. In this way, without eliminating it, but rather saying that other wisdom is profound, the sons of the gods say, "Alas, the venerable Subhuti will clarify it," and so on. The sound "Ema" is used for certainty. Because it arises from the realization of the selflessness of persons, the wisdom of the Hearers is said to be distant because it is not the object of practice for the non-Buddhists. Even more distant than that is the wisdom of the Solitary Realizers, because they have dull faculties and are not the object of practice for the Hearers. "Subtle" is said to be the wisdom of the Hearers because it is the fruit of abandoning the obscuration of afflictions. Even more subtle than that is the wisdom of the Solitary Realizers, because they have abandoned the conceptualization of grasping one aspect of the obscuration of knowledge. Because it is distinguished by the sixteen aspects taught by others, the wisdom of the Hearers is profound. Even more profound than that is the wisdom of the Solitary Realizers, which is distinguished by the mere fact of self-realization. In other sutras, it is also said that by realizing these ten paths of virtuous action for oneself, and by understanding this profound condition, one accomplishes the wisdom of the Solitary Realizers. Because it abides in that direction, it is entering. That itself.
