Therefore. As it is said in the Sutra of Golden Light: "In order to ascend to the heavens, when a ladder is well made from rabbit horns, then relics will exist. If the body has no bones or blood, how can there be relics?" It is like this. Thus, it is not an unestablished reason. Since it exists in the concordant side, it is also not contradictory. If there exists a cause that is not incomplete, it is unreasonable for the result not to arise, because it is a harm, so there is a valid cognition that harms the reversal, so it is also not uncertain. If the great sage, endowed with unobstructed wisdom, remains as long as samsara exists, then the appearance of the Tathagata and others would be meaningless, but there is no such fault. Because even though he is endowed with unobstructed wisdom, since he practices the same cause, for the sake of sentient beings to be tamed by many Buddhas, the Bhagavan Tathagatas will also appear simultaneously. Just like compassionate beings who dwell on the level of individual ordinary beings in order to remove the stone that presses down on the frog. If another Tathagata appears, it should not be said that the power of the previous Tathagata's wisdom has diminished. Even if they gather together, if there are beings to be tamed by that nature, it is for the sake of accomplishing the meaning of sentient beings. Thus, if there is one unobstructed wisdom power, it is unreasonable to say that another similar cause will not change in that way. It is not certain that one person will become wise, but others with the same cause will not change. If one Tathagata cannot tame, then he cannot tame all. If you think so, that is not right. Because the collection is the same, just as the Bhagavan alone cannot tame, many Tathagatas also do not tame with one form each, but may they become tamed by the forms of many Buddhas who are not illusions, and in this way, from the attraction of causes such as aspirations, they arise simultaneously and become tamed by many. Therefore, it is not even to be examined in the same way as the Shravakas, one's own.

It is because there are no sentient beings to be tamed who have been completely matured. For that very reason, it is impossible for such a gathering to tame women, so it is not manifestly abiding in one place. For that very reason, it is also impossible for many Tathagatas to appear simultaneously in one world. If it exists, then it is not contradictory to those who are free from the defilements of stinginess and jealousy, etc. They made this aspiration: "However the benefit of those to be tamed may fully arise, may that appearance arise dependent on me." That is enough. Since, logically, the Nirmanakaya of the Tathagata who has completely passed into Nirvana does not abide either, it is thought that it is not reasonable to abide in all ways. If the expression is preceded by words such as "Buddha," then how should one abide? If one does not abide in that way, then how should the Bodhisattva abide and realize? How should one learn and perfect through practice? The word "what," because it has already given the expression of abandonment, is not such a conclusion in any way. To answer that question, what is said is: "Shariputra, endowed with life, what do you think?" etc. What is the abiding of the Tathagata, what do you think and understand? If you know, speak, what is said is the Tathagata, etc. However, you should be challenged, as stated in the first chapter, it should be understood that this is confirmed by this. If the word "abiding" is as it is, it will become a fault, so with this thought, the answer is given: "Subhuti, endowed with life," etc. "Bhagavan, isn't he residing in Rajagriha and other places? Why is it said that he does not abide anywhere?" To dispel this doubt, he is greeted with "Why is that?" and then he said, "Subhuti, endowed with life," etc. "The mind does not abide" is because of the manifestation of Bodhi.

Having become fully enlightened, because he does not see all phenomena as they truly are, he does not possess the mind that abides in this, therefore the mind of the Tathagata is not abiding, therefore he does not abide in anything in the manner of an object of focus, this is connected with the previous one. In order to show this very point, he spoke of "that" and so on. "Conditioned" refers to the desire realm and so on. "Unconditioned" refers to suchness and so on. Not abiding in that is because things are not apprehended as such at present. "Not arising from that" also means not abiding there, because there is no negation for that which has no object. In conventional truth, it is considered that the Blessed One abides or does not abide. In that case, we can also refute the attachment to the ultimate truth, and in conventional truth, as you have said, everything that abides in it should be stated, therefore it is not unreasonable to abide in all aspects. This is the answer, saying, "Shariputra, the venerable one," and so on. "Likewise" is a word that means the same as the order just mentioned. In order to distinguish this very point, he spoke of "how" and so on. Not abiding is because there is no momentary impermanent entity. Nor is it not abiding, because there is no negation for that which has no object. Abiding discordantly is because there is no constant entity, so it is not consequently obtained that abiding differently. Not not abiding discordantly is because there is similarly nothing to be negated. "One should train in this way" refers to the stage of application. "One should abide in this way, one should train in this way" refers to the actual stage. "One should train in this way" is connected with the previous one. "One should abide well in the manner of non-abiding" means that like a magical person, one abides well by obtaining special realization in a manner without attachment, so "one should train in this way," the connection here also refers to the time of entering. Having thus extensively shown realization, stating the conclusion is "in this" and so on.
