Then, what will this become? Just as it is said, "Thus learning," etc., by meditating in this way, one will abide in the state of the Perfection of Wisdom, which is the nature of the supreme Dharma realized through meditation. Precisely because of this, one will not be separated from this attention. The meaning of "Yes" is the completion of thorough action. The meaning of the words is this: Because the Thus-Gone One, having manifestly awakened to enlightenment, did not apprehend any Dharma whatsoever in reality, therefore these things appear only as the nature of illusion. Therefore, do not abide in the manner of manifestation in the fruit of constantly entering the stream, which is expanded by meditating on non-apprehension, established by the reasoning unseen by a valid person, and in the ten, such as entering the stream. One should meditate in this way. It is also said thus: "Starting from the ten grounds, by showing the unresiding increase, it is declared to become the supreme of Dharma. Why? Because the Buddhas, having known, did not see the Dharmas." Even though it is appropriate to speak of the Solitary Buddha's path below the Hearer's path, in order to dispel the doubt of "In what way does their path differ from the Hearers, how do they excel?" In order to temporarily establish the excellence, it is said, "From then on, in that assembly," etc. "Whatever those are" means that because of the abbreviation of the suffix, it is synonymous with "any previously heard." "The sound of Yakshas" means the sounds counted by those Yakshas in their own symbols. "Word" is an abbreviation of speech. "Telling" refers to the complete fulfillment of the meaning one wishes to express, and is synonymous with "great purity." "Well-spoken" refers to speaking in words of questions and answers from this and that gateway of conversation. "Saying those" means "Can it be known?", meaning that by speaking through the power of symbols, those can understand its meaning. "The venerable and long-lived Subhuti, what does he say, what does he say?" etc., the sutra says that the Hearers realize their own enlightenment relying on the teachings of others, that is the meaning.

It is through the manifest accumulation of prior hearing and the like that one's own enlightenment is realized without relying on the teachings of others. Therefore, it is indeed a special intrusion to say that the Buddhas and others should not teach them. Because of this reason, whatever is said with regard to the Pratyekabuddhas is the meaning of words that do not understand their meaning. The meaning of 'explaining' and the like has already been explained. Alternatively, explaining is showing after requesting. Answering after asking is speaking well. These two, from the perspective of the ignorant to be tamed, explaining is showing. From the perspective of the negligent, going and specifically saying is near-showing. The sons of the gods should know that these thoughts arise from the power of the Tathagata. Otherwise, starting from the Pratyekabuddhas, if the noble Subhuti does not say anything, how would thoughts arise in them? Rightly realizing is the meaning of permission, and the sons of the gods cannot know, and so on. Saying 'cannot know' is saying well, which is the remainder. Saying twice is: wonder and debate, anger and dejection, and certainty, faith and joy, for these, one word is said twice. As it is said, it should be understood as wonder and certainty, and so on. How is it that it is said well? As it is said, and so on, because the listener speaks meaningless words, how is he not a madman? In this way, for the sake of the meaning of the self-realized dharmas and the like, nothing at all has been heard here. Therefore, whatever is said for those meanings is not understanding their meaning, this is said well. The Shravakas teach the Dharma with words and cause others to enter virtue, therefore the listeners understand the ability of the speaker through verbal expression, while the Pratyekabuddhas have abandoned the conceptualization of grasping one side of the obscuration of knowledge, self-
