The meaning of "for us" is synonymous with "for our needs." It means for the sake of turning the wheel of Dharma that precedes the Hearer Vehicle. "How" is connected to "for us." Or, how to instruct? "For enlightenment" refers to the cause of unsurpassed enlightenment. "Chaste conduct" means turning away from unchaste conduct. As it is said: "With conduct that is peaceful, endowed with hearing and thought, one should diligently apply oneself to meditation." This shows that it possesses the five bases of training, etc., appropriately. "In practice" means that as long as samsara exists, engaging in benefiting sentient beings, generating the mind of enlightenment, and not completely abandoning afflictions through knowing the path itself, this shows its nature. By controlling afflictions, one engages in practice for a long time. Otherwise, the practice of enlightenment will not be perfected. "Instructing the perfections" refers to how to instruct the perfections such as generosity. It is explained in detail through instructing, instructing, and instructing. Some sutras state: "Giving instruction" is easy to understand. "Subsequently indicating" means subsequently training. "For them" refers to those Hearers, in some instances. "Through practice" means not manifesting the true end of the nature as previously described, and through wisdom and skillful means, skillfully grasping generosity, etc., not allowing them to cling to reality, grasping beings who have not yet been liberated in order, allowing them to cling to reality, performing the work of liberation, etc., and accumulating merit. Otherwise, realization is not possible. Some read "giving instruction," which is easy to understand. This is to generate and comprehend the unsurpassed wisdom of the Thus-Gone One.

In this way, explaining the meaning of the example by showing the example is "Bhagavan, thus" and so on. "Thus" is a synonym for "like that." The particle "also" means that not only the Bhagavan, but also we, the great Shravakas, should take and entrust with the teachings and subsequent instructions, and in this way, we should take and follow. Similarly, in order to make (merit) more and more complete, we should also truly take and truly follow. The particle "also" means certainty. If someone doubts, how were the Shravakas received by the Bhagavan in the past Bodhisattva stage, and you Shravakas should also receive other Bodhisattvas in the same way, what is the connection? In order to eliminate this doubt, we greet and state with "For what reason?", which is "Bhagavan, we also have this" and so on. The thought is this: Just as the Shravakas said to their Buddhas, in the Bodhisattva stage, they practiced Brahmacharya for our sake, thus understanding the benefits they had previously bestowed, and in order to repay their kindness, they said in front of them, when the Bhagavan practiced Brahmacharya for our sake in the Bodhisattva stage, the most loving Shakyamuni Buddha received them. Similarly, we, the great Shravakas, should also say that the Shakya King practiced Brahmacharya for our sake in the Bodhisattva stage, thus understanding the benefits previously bestowed, and in order to repay the kindness of the Bhagavan, in your presence, we will receive those most loving Bodhisattvas who practice Brahmacharya for the sake of future beings. In this way, we are repaying the kindness of the Bhagavan. If we receive it in this way, what will happen? It is said that "quickly unsurpassed" and so on, it will become easy to remember.

Understanding is realization. Some say that this refers to the actualization of perfect enlightenment. To this, some say that it needs to be examined, because it is not the case that one can actualize perfect enlightenment in the present moment simply by accepting it. Others say that it refers to the arising of the result from the complete assembly of causes, which is like describing a disease. As for "making it obscure" and so on, it should be understood as it is said. As it is said in the sutra: "In order to please the gods, make it obscure with light, as well as the determined place, pervasiveness, nature, and its function." Thus, after speaking of the support and so on, the meaning of the path of the Hearers is: After that, the Blessed One Shariputra and others spoke as such. Therefore, because in the stage of understanding the path, one has reached the ultimate end of one's own path, but for the sake of sentient beings to be tamed by other vehicles, it is not manifested, but still the path with causes is taught, and because one is skilled in being close, the Bodhisattva must perfect all paths, therefore, I will explain to you the path of the Hearers, listen, Kauśika (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思)! Listen." It should be connected as such. Master Vasubandhu said, "Listen well!" This is like the gods raining, but for an overturned container, nothing can enter. Similarly, you look down and do not understand, so do not listen. It is said. Because it is said "extremely well," it is like a dirty container filled with water, then all the water will become dirty and useless. Similarly, you listen with a wrong understanding and make it unclean, so do not listen. It is said. It is said, "Keep in mind," just as water that enters a clean but leaky container cannot stay. Similarly, because your understanding is unstable, do not listen, but be sure to listen in such a way that you understand very clearly and make your mind firm. In this way, listening is fruitful. It is said. Aryadeva said, "Listen with an impartial attitude and an attitude of seeking the truth." This is to say that it is good in order.
