Because it is unborn, it is considered neither bound nor liberated. Others say that since it is invisible when measured by direct perception, inference, and scriptural authority, it cuts off and eliminates the inherent arising, etc., and say that these are the three words "not true," etc. What is the nature of appearance? That is not negation; what is experienced? It should not be negation. In this way, in order to establish bondage and liberation as they appear, it is thought that contradicting direct perception, etc., is a great fault. These refer to the near gathering. Great armor, that is, without armor, refers to the power of compassion and wisdom in the conventional and ultimate, etc., is the remaining part. Without answering, remaining silent, refers to saying "as it is said," etc. Since tranquility and insight are contradictory, how can they exist in one? It is not like that. When tranquility makes the mind focus on the object, wisdom observes the object, and the light of true wisdom arises, like the appearance of light, eliminating darkness-like obstacles. Therefore, these two are like the eye and light, producing true wisdom and existing in mutual accordance, so they are not contradictory like darkness and light. Is samadhi the nature of darkness? If so, what is it? It is the characteristic of one-pointedness of mind, and through equipoise, the true meaning is known as it is, so it is completely in accordance with wisdom, so there is no contradiction. Thus, for those who have the collection of the path of union, skillful means, etc., will arise. In order to show the collection of skillful means, etc., for the sake of asking, the topic is opened, and the Blessed One, thus, etc., is said. As previously said, having put on the great armor in that way, one will truly enter the Mahayana, because one does not understand the Mahayana, so the union of wisdom and compassion.
