And it cannot increase. Through the path called cultivation, what diminishes and what is attained? Thus it is said. In the ultimate sense, there is no achieving what is not desired, as it is said, like Subhuti, that is so. In the conventional sense, how does one perform the meaning of the path of cultivation in accordance with the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment? Thus it is shown, however, Subhuti, bodhisattva mahasattva, etc., are spoken of. The term 'not thinking' refers to not generating such a mind in the manner of focusing on things, as the perfection of generosity increases or one fully inquires. How does one completely dedicate oneself to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment as it is? How does one completely dedicate oneself to sentient beings through the power of inconceivable, unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, in a way that generates a special mind that is in accordance with merit and wisdom, in order to increase merit, and in the conventional sense, to accomplish the meaning of manifest desire? Such a complete dedication is its general meaning. By cultivating in this way, through the means of being separated from temporary stains, this manifest path has the characteristic of being like an illusion. Although it is inconceivable, how can one be separated from the unfavorable aspects and the opposing aspects in the conventional sense, and perform the meaning in the order of birth? Thus, it should be properly established, as it is desired. As it is said: How is enlightenment like that? This is what accomplishes the meaning of desire. Thus it is said. In order to extensively show this meaning, five other explanations, such as Subhuti, are mentioned. What is the characteristic of enlightenment? That is, Blessed One, what is unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, etc.? This is suchness, which refers to the self-nature of suchness. As it is said: Enlightenment, suchness is the characteristic, and that is also its characteristic.

It is said that way. O Subhuti, suchness is without increase or decrease, and so are enlightenment and the path, because that is its nature. This is called the remainder. Thus, because cause and effect, or effect and cause, follow each other's nature, the relationship between cause and effect will be reversed. Furthermore, what is said by showing the function of the path in a conventional way is, if the Bodhisattva, and so on. Having such attention and so on, it is known as the path of meditation. To abide continuously means that two kinds are mentioned by the distinction of the stages of application and conclusion, because in the actual stage, since that is its nature, it is unreasonable to abide. If so, it means in that way. The summary is, O Subhuti, thus the Bodhisattva and so on are spoken of. The so-called unspeakable meaning refers to the path of meditation. Explanation of the Prajñāpāramitā, in the light of the Abhisamayalankara, called "The Chapter on Emptiness," the eighteenth chapter. Furthermore, in order to dispel doubts, that is, fearing that in a conventional way, one cannot accomplish benefit through generating a special appearance of the mind, so the Lord is asked: Lord, and so on. Because each mind that arises before and after does not appear to accomplish all the meanings of the Buddha's enlightenment, such as omniscience, Therefore, the first mind that arises, or each subsequent mind, is not the ultimate word of the Bodhisattva's complete enlightenment. It is explained that sentient beings are each different aggregates of consciousness. Because it is impossible, in order to show whether this aspect is also reasonable, that is, whether the many moments of the mind that appear as the Dharma that can accomplish the desired meaning can manifest complete enlightenment, so please ask: Lord, the first mind that arises, and so on. The so-called non-accompaniment means that the former and the latter are established and arise without following each other in order, so they do not explain each other.

Therefore, there is no encounter. The so-called "how" is unrelated, because the mind that appears as a special meaning is not produced, so the roots of virtue, etc., will not become close, etc. Therefore, it is thought that one will not realize the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment. Because it is not intended to manifest the previously stated tenet, in order to answer with an analogy that is extremely well-known to the later tenet, it is said, "What do you think?" and so on. The so-called "oil lamp" is a lamp. The so-called "first contact" is the encounter with the first moment. Because they do not have the ability individually, it is answered that it is not so. To clarify this, the Blessed One answered, "The first flame," and so on. The first moment when the flame and the wick meet, because there is no difference in the simultaneous arising of those that come from the order of one's own causal lineage, therefore, without a second moment, as the nature of cause and effect, the nature of burning and being burned is unreasonable. Therefore, when the first flame touches, the wick does not burn. If it is said that only the later moment of the lamp burns, then it is answered that if it does not depend on the arising of the first flame, the wick will not burn. However, depending on the first moment of the lamp, the later flame burns the wick, because without the previous moment, there will be no later moment. The way of speaking about the later moment is the Blessed One, "The later flame," and so on. Because the special flame and wick will also become permanent, etc., in the second moment of arising, therefore, if there is no previous moment, it will not arise even in conventionality, therefore, because it is separated from the nature of cause and effect, the nature of burning and being burned, when the later flame touches, the wick does not burn. If it is said that the moment of the first flame burns, then it is answered, "Without touching the later flame," and so on. However, depending on the later moment of the lamp, the first flame burns, because without the later moment, there is no previous
