That's the concluding remark. This is from the explanation of the Perfection of Wisdom, in the Appearance of the Ornament of Realization, the thirteenth chapter, the Inconceivable Chapter. Showing the distinction of intense and thorough effort summarized by two moments: The Blessed One inquired of the Bodhisattva Mahasattva and so on. "Only together with hearing" means immediately after hearing alone. Therein, by preventing the activities of hearing, thinking, and meditating, respectively, it means being unafraid, not shrinking back, not completely shrinking back, and not completely abiding. Because of being free from ignorance, doubt, and wrong knowledge, one is not deluded, does not doubt, does not waver; the meaning of the words should be spoken thus. "Will become manifestly joyful" means because of having manifest desire. "The mind does not turn outward" means one will not generate a mind of regret. "Following" means not completely abandoning the speaker of the Dharma. "He will go like a shadow" means precisely not abandoning the speaker of the Dharma. These are shown by examples, such as Subhuti, like this, for example, and so on. "The body is bound" means having been placed in the heart. "Having been placed in a book" means having heard the book. The distinction of perfect accomplishment, shown summarized by three moments, is what the Blessed One and so on inquired. "Having these qualities" means having faith in the Perfection of Wisdom and not shrinking back, and so on. "Is there?" is asking indirectly, "What?" Answering in a compliant manner is what the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Subhuti and so on said. It is also shown from the opposite angle, which is what Subhuti also said and so on. To welcome the thought, "This is not reasonable," it is welcomed with, "Why is that?" which is what was said, such as this. It is said thus, because being separated from generating the habits of motherhood, becoming weak, and so on, therefore, previously completely asking

English

It is said that it is not in such a state. To clarify that, it is said, "Subhuti, furthermore," and so on. "For a while" refers to being associated with a short day or two. "Will be lost" means that it will not deteriorate due to the power of opposing factors. "Will be taken away" means that one will not be able to answer due to the large number of questioners. Similarly, to inquire why, it is said, "Subhuti, it is like this," and so on. It means that the result follows the cause, which is the law. It is meant that who has not asked in the same way as before all the time? Just like "Is it one day like this?" and so on, that is what was said immediately. Some explanations are that it will follow the intention, meaning that by the power of learning for a short day or two, it will become just wanting to remember that much, because the result is in accordance with the cause. Therefore, "distracted mind" means falling away from faith. "Will be discouraged" means even if one already has faith. "The mind will become coarse" means because one has not found the object of a separately determined Dharma. That is said to be like the burning of cotton. Because burning due to piling up cotton is the burning of cotton, it will be like that because it is similar and the same in nature as not abiding in the Dharma. In the case of illness, etc., or in the case of behavior, etc., it should be said in order: will not follow remembrance, will not follow entering, will not follow showing. To show the difference of the object summarized by the four moments, it is said, "Subhuti, for example like this," and so on. Because there is no external and internal harm, for the sake of happiness, the two words "to the shore of the other side" are spoken. That is "not injured, not degraded," which is what was said. "Not abandoned in the middle" means that it will be completely destroyed and decayed in the middle. For "having faith" etc., having faith in that

English

Faith is the profound belief in the manifestation of existence itself. Patience is the acceptance of the unborn dharma. Greed is the grasping itself. Desire is the wish to do. Diligence is the joy in virtuous deeds. Caution is the practice and non-practice of virtue and non-virtue in order. Adoration is holding onto a definite view. Higher intention is focusing the mind on doing the benefit of others, etc. Giving is giving all things together with their results. Respect is the prostration to all. Joy is inner happiness. Contentment is the excellence of joy. Faith is the special faith that arises from seeing the possession of qualities. Extreme joy is the manifest desire to be able to accomplish. Not abandoning diligence is not abandoning the burden of what has been vowed. The example of taking and not taking is to clearly reveal that having obstacles and not having obstacles are the aspects that are not in accordance with the all-knowing one himself, and the antidote. Revealing what is contained in the first moment of the path by the difference of the support, such as Subhuti, such as the example, etc., is what is said. If someone doubts that this is unreasonable, then in order to meet this question, it is met with "Why?", and then answered with the nature of things, such as "Like a vase", etc. If someone says "If the water is taken away", that is to say if the water is lifted. "Similarly, why?" For such a question, as before, such as "Like a vase", etc., what is said is that the Prajnaparamita and skillful means are synonymous with emptiness and great compassion. Putting down and not putting down the vase is to explain the nature of being the basis and non-basis of the Dharma to be practiced. Revealing what is contained in the second moment by the difference of the aggregation of causes, such as Subhuti, such as the example of the son whose birthplace is of a scattered wisdom nature, etc., is what is said. Not covering with an eye patch means that the leaking place is not blocked with bark, etc. Not repairing means not removing the rotten wood. Oppressed by the burden means oppressed by the heavy burden.
