What is Suchness? It is established for the sake of that very Suchness's excellent meaning. Because it is not different, that lineage also abides as it appears. In this way, being free from manifest clinging to self and what belongs to self, etc., the pure aspect of form, etc., which is like an illusion, is now free from all opposing factors, and because of that very fact, the results such as entering the stream are the purity of the Perfection of Wisdom. Likewise, whatever is the purity of the result is the purity of form, etc., and because it is indivisible, that difference is not cut off. Therefore, the purity of the result is the purity of form, etc., and likewise, the purity of form, etc., is the purity of the result, which is the meaning of what is taught. Thus it is also said: The purity of the result is the purity of form, etc., for what reason are they pure? These two are not different and are not cut off, therefore they are called pure. This is what is said. Thus, after generally speaking of purity, in order to show the distinction, it is said, "Furthermore, Subhuti," etc. The purity of omniscience is a synonym for the three purities of omniscience. Therefore, it is said that the Hearers have abandoned the obscuration of afflictions, and the Solitary Buddhas have abandoned the obscuration of afflictions and the conceptualization of grasping one side of the obscuration of knowledge, so omniscience is pure. The Bodhisattvas have abandoned the obscurations of the path of the three vehicles, so the knowledge of the path is pure. The Tathagatas have abandoned the obscurations of afflictions and knowledge, together with their predispositions, in all respects, so the exceedingly pure nature arising from the sphere of reality is the purity of all-knowingness, so it is said. Thus it is also said: Because of the decline of the three, afflictions, knowledge, and path, the purity of the Hearers, Solitary Buddhas, and the Sons of the Conquerors, the Buddhas are all exceedingly. This is what is said. In the context of the knowledge of the path, in addition to explaining purity, the purity of the Tathagatas and Hearers, etc., in order,

And what is the other explanation like? Then, the Blessed One spoke to the venerable Shariputra and others. The so-called "profound," and "to make clear," "to make manifest," "without connection," "without all afflictions," "without attainment," "without realization," "without accomplishment," "without extreme birth," these nine words asked by the noble Shariputra should be said to be the nature of the nine aspects of the path of meditation, such as the small of the small, in order. For each word, the Blessed One said, "For the sake of purification," this should be combined with abandoning the nine opposing aspects such as the great of the great. Because the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm are mentioned, the nine grounds such as the desire realm should be grasped as the path of meditation. If it is said, "Whether the desire realm and the peak of existence, abandon the limbs of the path to enlightenment," that is because of being unskilled in means, and it is in terms of the Hearers, so there is no contradiction between this and that, this is the view of some. Others explain that the nine grounds from dwelling in the place of being incapable to the limit of the sphere of nothingness are the path of meditation. Mentioning the desire realm and so on is to emphasize showing that there is no truly existing "mother" there, not to explain the nine grounds. Its condensed meaning is this: The nine grounds mentioned above, each or in order, as the antidote to the nine opposing aspects such as the great of the great, in order, the nine paths such as the small of the small arise, are all aspects, and are another cause of purification, therefore they are called the extremely pure and the other. It is said: "The nine grounds are the great of, the great and other defilements, the antidote is the small of the small, the path of etc. is pure." Then, how is the extremely pure that is not attended to? It is said to have asked the Blessed One and so on. The so-called "not knowing" is one's own nature.
