The Blessed One spoke of the Perfection of Wisdom as being without diligence, and so on. Because of the difficulty and suffering, one is particularly devoted, so it is difficult to be devoted to, meaning particularly difficult to be devoted to. Aren't there bondage and liberation due to the distinction between ordinary beings and noble ones? If one thinks that form is neither bound nor liberated, then why cling to it? Welcoming this doubt with "Why cling?", it was said, "Because form is without intrinsic nature," because the form of the three times is the very nature of wisdom. After showing it generally, with the distinction of past, etc., it was said, "Subhuti, the prior limit of form," and so on. Similarly, welcoming the doubt with "Why cling?", it was said, "Because the prior limit is without intrinsic nature," because it is not born from that cause alone, so for the form that arises now, there is no intrinsic nature of the prior limit, therefore it is said so. As before, welcoming the doubt with "Why?", it was said, "Because the posterior limit is without intrinsic nature," because the result of the posterior limit is not born from that cause alone, so there is no intrinsic nature, thus the words are arranged. Similarly, welcoming the doubt with "Why?", it was said, "Because the present arising is without intrinsic nature," because form, etc., is empty of its own nature, so the present arising is separated from characteristics. It is difficult to believe because it is not the realm of ordinary beings. It is very difficult to believe because it is not the realm of those who are free from clinging desire. If one thinks that the nature of form, etc., and the Perfection of Wisdom are understood to be different by the distinction of conventional and ultimate, then how is it very difficult to believe? Welcoming this doubt with "Why?", it was said, "Subhuti, by the purity of form," and so on. Because there is no distinction of various kinds, it is separate. Because it is not determined by the characteristic of complete distinction, it is separated. Or because it is free from the variety of self and general characteristics, it is spoken in order. Subhuti, if it is so, etc., that conventional
